Angela Rayme Harper, 79, passed away on January 9, 2025. Services will be Saturday, January 25, beginning with visitation at 2 pm and funeral service to follow at 3 pm at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive.
Angela united with New Zion Baptist Church in the 1980’s under the pastorate of Reverend A. Russell Awkard. She was no bench warmer…she became actively involved with the choirs, Sunday School, The Big A Program, the Missionary Society, Vacation Bible School and various other programs of the Church. Later, she united with Bates Memorial Baptist Church and remained actively involved until her health began to fail.
Angela leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Angela Deneen, and Paula; brother, James Mitchell; sister, Georgina Young; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicolas, Victoria, and Valaria Harper and Justice Mudd; great-grandchildren, Priestlen, Xzavier, Adraiana, Willow, Preia, Pailee and Cyniya; nieces, Carrie and Marva Young; nephew, Charles Young III; and a host of family and friends…including her bestie, Sandra.
