Barbara Jane (Mansfield) Briggs, 85, passed away on January 17, 2025. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Services will be Saturday, February 1, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive.
She is survived by her beloved family, including her three children: Patricia Mansfield, Robin Briggs-Shields (Frankie), and Ethel Briggs-Roach. She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren: Larissa Johnson, Alisha Conn (Michael), Latoya Mansfield, Latricia Bolden (Edward), Leondrus Briggs (Deandra), Andrew Shields, and Eleine Roach, along with 20 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Additionally, Barbara cherished her aunts, Louise Rucker and Ermon Dougherty, as well as her siblings: Margery Hines, Flora Smotherman, Shirley Mansfield, Betsy Brawner (Wallace), and William Mansfield (Nikki). She was preceded in death by her grandson, Aaron Shields.
Barbara’s life was filled with love, faith, and service. Her legacy continues in the lives of those she touched, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
