Elizabeth Island Jones, 92, passed away on March 2, 2024. Services will be Friday, March 8, 2024 beginning with visitation at 10 am with funeral service to follow at 11 am at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. Interment will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her brothers: Levi, Jr., Willie B., Roosevelt, and Victory, Sisters: Jessie Lee, Ozella, and Curly, Children: Louise “Lou” Turner, Louis Curtis “L.C.” Evans, and Patricia J. “Tricia Ann” Ross, Stepchildren: Zella and Leroy, and her Special Friend, Mr. Ned “Preacher” Wright.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Dwyan (Jo) “Wayne” Keith Jones, Jeffersonville, IN; Son-In-Love, Daniel T. Ross, Austell, GA; Sister, Florida Mae Peoples and brother, Henry Island, Chicago, Ill.; Step-Children: Roosevelt (Wilma) Jones, Edna Jones Powell, Nancy Suddeth (Rev. Greg) Elders, Greenwood, MS; Arilla Davis of Redford, MI, and Sherry Jones, Orlando, FL.
Mrs. Jones has 28 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her and for whom she loved dearly.
