Ezell Gerod Smith, 71, passed away on June 2, 2025. Services will be Monday, June 9, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at Oakland Baptist Church, 1226 Algonquin Parkway.
Ezell leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, cherished by his wife of 25 years, Josie Brown-Smith; sons, Jerome (Tina) Smith-Lowe and Dr. Lezell Jerod (Monica) Smith-Lowe; daughter, Elise Stevenson; bonus sons, Donell Thomas (Angela), Derrick Thomas (Jennifer), Brandon Lowe; bonus daughter, Dorvia Hill (Thomas); sisters, Ruby Ann Smith-Montierro (Johnnie) and Billie Peoples; brothers, Tremell Smith, Dwain Morrow, and Rutland (Mae Joyce) Melton; grandchildren, Christian, Deidra, Jazmin, Micah, Mykell, Jeremiah, Semaj, Devin, Destiny, Trenton, Tyson, Teagan, Devin, Elliona, Carmella, and Mayleena; great-grandchildren, Niyemah, Melania, Harlem, and Pharoah; special niece, Tasha Taylor; special great-nieces, Alethea and Don-tia; bonus brothers, Chuck Rogers, Marshall Ellington. Although Ezell has finished his earthly journey, he will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
