Evangelist George E. Smith, 70, passed away on January 29, 2023. Services will be Tuesday, February 8, 2023 beginning with visitation at 11 a.m. and funeral service at 1 p.m. at Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons, 951 S. Preston Street.

George was preceded in death by his mother Emily Northington, his father Carl Smith, his sister minister, Joyloraine Howard, his brother, James Northington JR, and his son, James Smith. He is survived by his sons, Andre Smith, and Terry Smith; his daughter, A’Ria Smith, and God daughter, Regina Palmer; his grandchildren Andre Eleby, Na’Seer Brown, De’asia Smith, Treasure Autry, Angel Smith, Mary Smith, Jonah Smith, Ricky Johnson, Zi’Reon Winstead, Noah Smith, Terry Smith Jr. Adrile Smith and Azariah Smith; his great grandchildren Andre Eleby and Caden Eleby. Siblings Anitha Smith, Barbra Northington, Willma Smith, Sharon Wade, Donna O’Neil, Rhonda Morton, Carl Tennyson, William Northington, Clarence Smith; and host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
