Gilbert Renaldo Reeder “Big Boogie”, 66, passed away on January 15, 2023. Services will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.
Gilbert was a man that didn’t play about his family and friends. Big Boogie loved watching Gunsmoke and Andy Griffin. He had a laugh that could light up a room. He was a loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Son and Husband. He met Sheila Reeder in 1976 and they married in 1984. Big boogie will be greatly missed by all his loved ones and friends because to know him was to love him.
Gilbert is survived by his loving wife Shelia Reeder; His daughters Rajean Reeder, Lucretia Reeder, Shalita Robinson; siblings, Vendetta (Leon) Johnson, Frank (Dwaina) Reeder Jr, Jerry Reeder; 3 granddaughters Ga’Miyah Robinson, Gia Robinson, Malaya Givens; 11 grandsons; 2 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and his best friend Micheal Griffin.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edith Jean Reeder, his son Gilbert Robinson, and dear friend Randy “Gator” Ramsey.
