Obituaries

Hazel F. Calloway, 95, passed away on February 15, 2023. Hazel retired from the Metro United Way and has been a longstanding member of the Urban League Guild, Westover Neighborhood Association, and Cable Baptist Church. She was also the last surviving member of Central High School Class of 1945½. She is preceded in death by her husband Horace; daughter, Rhonda Calloway-Standford; and grandson, Jason Calloway. Hazel leaves to mourn her death, three sons, Mark, Clay, and Charles; daughter-in-law, Barbara Calloway; son-in-law, Ron Standford; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.  Services will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at Cable Baptist Church, 314 Wenzel Street.
