John Lewis Gordon, 101, passed away on February 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was a 1942 graduate of Central High School. U.S. Army Veteran, Seagrams Distillery retiree, and a member of St. Stephen Baptist Church.  John Lewis was preceded in death by his late wife Velma Irene Gordon; daughter, Denise Michele Gordon Manwani; son-in-law, Bhagwan Manwani; parents, John D. Gordon and Ann Leslie Gordon; and sister, Leslie Mae Gordon Brooks. He is survived by his two grandchildren, Rajesh Manwani and Jaime Manwani; two great-grandchildren, Rajesh Manwani Jr. and Paris McCoy; and a host of other relatives. He was a loving husband, father, grandad, great-granddad, brother, and uncle. He will deeply be missed. Services will be Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 1018 South 15th Street, Louisville, KY 40210 beginning with visitation 11 am – 1 pm and funeral service to follow at 1 pm. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons, 951 S. Preston Street.
