Michael Lenear Young, Sr.,53, passed away November 16, 2024. Michael leaves behind his three children: Michael L. Young Jr., Sabrina Young and Milaya Young; Sibling: C. Michelle Young, Markus Young. De’Sha’ne Johnson, De’Sheika Johnson, Jonea Harris, Frances Archie-Alhassan(Abdul), Latosha Wilson, Lamon Reed, Celicia Cushingberry (Anthony), Cecil Kirby, Felicia Brown. Grandchildren: Legacy Young, Mi-lan Hardin , Eli Allen, Sophia Young, Michael Young, Ja Quaveon Poole, Jailyn Poole, Za-zyiah Johnson. And a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Michael Lanear Young Sr aka Big Mike was born to Carol L. Young and Cecil L. Brown on April 6, 1971. Michael was always ready to lend a hand and help whoever, wherever  and whenever; and he expected nothing in return. His favorite saying was, “Whatever you want to bless me with”. Big Mike was a lover of food and he loved to feed the kids. He grew up attending Greater Faith Church of Deliverance. Michael was very passionate about his family. Becoming a Paw Paw brought him great peace and joy. He was even Paw Paw to the Daycare kids. Michael worked various jobs and was a great handyman. If it was broken he could fix or make you believe he could.

Services will be held at Greater Israel Baptist Church, 1509 W. Magazine Street in Louisville on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. with interment in Green Meadows Cemetery.
