Morris Gibson, 87, passed away on June 9, 2024. He was a Deacon at New Zion Baptist Church, retiree of Phillip Morris, and U.S. Army Veteran. Services will be Thursday, June 13, 2024 beginning with visitation at 9 am and funeral service to follow at 11 am at his church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. Interment will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
He was married for over 50 years to his loving wife Minnie Louise Gibson, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by their children Linda Ingram (Charles), Dolores Hall (Donald), Barbara Thompson, Mozell Halsell (Brian), Shelia Jones (Bobby), Marcella Gibson, Jennifer Hayden, Emmanuel Herrod (preceded him in death) (Terry), Micheal Herrod (Brenda), Morris Gibson jr (Marylin), Mose Halsell (Lee), Marvin Gibson, Timothy Gibson, Brian Gibson, Daniel Payne, Evan Elmore, Justin Burton (preceded him in death); and a special friend, Thomas Cason of Peoria, Illinois; 49 grandchildren: 134 great-grandchildren; and 50 great-great-grandchildren.
