Regina Elizabeth (Hickman) Jackson, 81, passed away on February 20, 2025. Services will be Thursday, February 27, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at Bates Memorial Baptist Church, 620 Lampton Street. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bardstown, KY.

Regina graduated from Kentucky State University where she received her BS in Nursing. She went on to work for Norton Healthcare as a nurse in the pediatric emergency room at Norton Children’s Hospital for 31 years. She had a passion for children which was demonstrated in retirement through her service as a caregiver for her grandchildren as well as several friends’ children. As a loyal and present servant of God, Regina was a long-time member of Bates Memorial Baptist Church where she served on the Health Ministry and helped to lead efforts with the Community Clothes Closet. She spent countless hours receiving and sorting donations to keep things organized and providing consultation to church and community members in need of clothing, shoes, and other items. Regina was also a dedicated volunteer for the Kentucky Derby Festival, Inc.’s Pegasus Pin Sponsorship Program. For more than 5 years she helped to sort and stuff pin envelopes and worked at the Chow Wagon as a pin lead where she greeted and supported pin sales volunteers throughout the 10-day event each Spring.

Regina loved her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Theodore; her pride and joy, her son Chris Calbert (Marina); grandchildren Kendrick, Chris II, Kieran, Krichelle, and Mikyla; great-grandchildren Kyler and Koi; siblings Mary Cecilia Jackson and Morris Hickman (Mary); a beloved nephew Kerrick Waddle and his daughter Kotie; a cherished niece-in-love Denisa Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings Marion Lee Hickman Sr., Barbara Ann Allen, and William “Billy” Hickman.
