Bowdre, Robert Lee “Billy Bird”, 67, passed away December 16, 2017. He was born on April 16, 1950, in Louisville, KY, to the union of Lawrence Bowdre and Mable Fitzpatrick. “Billy Bird” was known all over the city for his harmonica playing and singing. He leaves to cherish his memory; Lossie Bowdre and Carolyn Spratling; his children, Robert L. Bowdre, Jr. Raymond Bowdre, David Bowdre, Kevin Dillon, Kimberly Oglesby (Eric), Daniel Bowdre and Faye Bowdre; his siblings, Grace Gerton, Leonard Bowdre (Tomella), Delores Stringers, James Bowdre, Patricia Jimeniz, and Jacqueline Fletcher. Aunt Corine Williamson of Atlanta, GA. Visitation is Saturday, December 23, beginning at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. — both at Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons Funeral Home, 951 S. Preston Street.
