Tony C. Russell, 68, passed away on February 23, 2025. Services will be Monday, March 3, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons Funeral Home, 951 S. Preston Street.

Tony attended Central High School and later went on to work at the Hyatt Regency and Our Place Bar. In his spare time, he enjoyed sports, jazz music, attending concerts, grilling, and spending time with his life long friends Melvin and Carter.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, John W. Russell Jr.; mother, Ruth H. Russell; brother, boy Russell; sister, Anita Knight; sister, Ruth Gunn; brother, John Russell III; sister, Elaine Hughes; and his son, Tony C. Russell Jr. He is survived by his life long partner, Valarie Edison; four daughters, Toneka Phillips, Rikka Foster, Brittany Askew (Brandon) of Houston, TX, Brandy Edison; one son Anthony Tucker; sister, Betty Russell; several grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, among other friends and relatives.
