Willie T. Smith, 90, passed away on November 15, 2020. Funeral service will be 12 noon on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Greater Israel Baptist Church, 1509 Magazine Street with interment in Green Meadows Cemetery.

Willie was born June 13, 1930 in Fosterville, Tennessee, to the late Alla Pearl (Thompson) and William Frazier. She was the oldest of seven girls. Willie transitioned to her heavenly home on November 15, 2020.

She was married to the late William Smith Sr. in 1946. To this union seven children were born. Willie Smith is remembered as a loving, faithful wife and mother for the past 48 years.

Willie accepted and received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She joined Von Spiegel Street Baptist Church on January 1, 1955 under the pastorate of Rev. Cornelius Booker. She was a faithful and dedicated member. Willie was a member of the Missionary, Sunday School Department, Vacation Bible School and the President of the Nurses Guild until her health failed her. She influenced the lives of many young people that attended her Sunday School Class. Willie loved her students and they loved Sis. Smith.

Willie was preceded in death by her two sons, William Smith Jr. and Ordell P. Smith.

Willie leaves to cherish her memory her children: Dianna Kelley, Bettie J. Miles (Steve), Herbert Mitchell Smith (Terry), Odell P. Smith (Doris), and Robert S. Smith; 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Nannie Britt, Hattie Smyzer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
