Cynthia Marie Smock, 64, passed away on December 26, 2020. Services will be Monday, January 4, 2021 with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. and funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. at Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, 3226 Vermont Avenue. Cynthia was born in Louisville, KY to Morris Smock and Juanita Taylor. She was one of ten children. Cynthia graduated from Manual High school and attended the University of Louisville taking courses in law and paralegal. She worked as a Newspaper print editor at the. Courier – Journal for several years and also as a legislative assistant for the late Alderman Paul Bather. Cynthia was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and –then Gospel Missionary church for over 20 years and her life mission was to help others- it was second nature for her. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her brothers Bruce (Dorothy), Ralph (Marilyn), Anthony and Clarence along with a host of family, friends and extended loved ones. Cynthia leaves in her place to continue her legacy her children Chawn (Amirah), Celena and five beautiful grandchildren. She also leaves behind to continue her legacy her God-children Malysia, Alvin, Keisha, KeVonte, Destiney and Terrina. (Daisy) Through the best of times or toughest; Cynthia always kept a smile on her face and had a unique and distinctive laugh that you could hear from a mile away. Her strength, sacrifice, dedication, humility, selflessness, smile, and devotion to helping those in need serves as the best example to us all. She will be forever loved and missed but never- ever forgotten!!! |
