Barry L. Braxton
Louisville – Barry L. Braxton, 66, passed away on January 11, 2021 in his home in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born to Lois Allen Braxton and William Braxton in Louisville, Kentucky. Barry attended Central High School, Kentucky State University, The Culinary Institute of America, and Sullivan University where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in the Culinary Arts. He was a retired bachelor who enjoyed DIY home improvement projects, traveling, cheering for the Louisville Cardinals, and spending time with his friends and family. However, his favorite pastime was showing his love and serving others through cooking. He was also an active member of the Swahili Elks #1611 Lexington, KY. Barry was preceded in death by both of his parents and his daughter, Beth Mason. He is survived by his daughters, LaChonda Campbell (Charles), Danielle Graham (Adrian), Adrianne Tytus (Kevin); grandchildren, Lashawn, Charley, Lillee, Charles Jr. (LaChonda), Laila, Maya, Aria (Danielle), Kevin, Kamden (Adrianne); siblings, Neal (LaDonna) Braxton, Cathy Braxton, Cynthia Braxton, and Dorothy Braxton; several nieces, nephews, and a host of family, close friends and loved ones. A memorial will be held in Louisville, Kentucky at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021. To make every effort to limit the spread of COVID-19, the service will stream live on the Rodgers Awkard Lyons Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the KSU Foundation at Kentucky State University.
