Lizzie Gilliam Miller

Lizzie Jane Gilliam Miller, 95, passed away in Smithfield, NC, on December 5, 2022.

She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority (Eta Zeta Chapter), the Baptist Women’s Missionary Convention of KY and a retired Supervisory Cartographer at the U.S. Defense Mapping Agency.

Survivors include her children Lisa Morgan (Tony) and James Lawrence Miller; sisters, Lillie Gilliam and Clenteria Lowry-Carr; sister-in-law Annie Gawiak Gilliam; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 15, at her church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. The funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday will be preceded by her sorority’s burial service starting at 10:15 a.m. Online services will begin at 10:15 a.m. (Online services will begin at 10:15 a.m.)

Interment: Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested for the Harry & Lizzie Miller Youth Fund at her church.
