On August 4, 2023 Antonio Andra Smith, affectionately known by friends and family as “Tony,” “Pretty Tony” and “PT” entered into rest and went home to be with our Heavenly Father. Services will be Friday, August 11 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Bates Memorial Baptist Church, 620 Lampton Street Antonio was born November 27, 1958, to Barbara & James E. Smith in Louisville, Kentucky. Both parents preceded him in death. Tony confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and attended Bates Memorial Baptist Church of Louisville, Kentucky with his family. He also graduated from the Jefferson County Public School system in 1980. Tony was a great basketball player. He played for St. Ann’s and the Cabbage Patch. He was a jokester and loved being the life of the party, when he entered the room you would know it. He never met a stranger and had an impact on everyone that he met. Tony took great pride in his appearance and had a mean walk that commanded everyone’s attention. He was an original and created his own style. He had a passion for cars and loved sports. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and owned several businesses throughout his life. Tony leaves to mourn his passing three daughters: Tanita Williams of Las Vegas, NV, Tawana Felton and Cherrie Pointer; a son: Jatavieone Fant of Bowling Green, KY; seven grandchildren: Lazarus Kyle Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, De’Shay Felton, Dan’yel Felton, John Sanders Jr., Sai’Vion Vaughn, Emmanuel Vaughn, Caleb Vaughn; and one great-granddaughter: Londyn Rayne Kyle of Las Vegas, NV. His siblings: Orlando Turner (Patricia), Doris Bell, Elder Larry Smith Sr. (Mary) and Brenda Cheatham (Andre). His close friends: Gerald Bass, Ricky Claycomb and Louis Rowan. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. |
