Betty J. Harris

Betty Jean Harris, 77, passed away on November 22, 2024. Services will be held at Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons Funeral Home, 951 S. Preston Street on Thursday, December 5. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral at 1 p.m.

Betty is survived by her two beloved children, Dawn A. Harris-Long and Dandrea D. Harris Sr. (Dorothy); her stepsister, Stacey Long; her stepbrother, Kevin D. Long; her cherished grandchildren, Valencya M. Hurt (Christopher), Devrin Harris, and Dandrea Harris Jr.; one sister, Ellen Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Betty’s passing leaves a profound emptiness in the lives of all who knew her, but her love, laughter, and legacy of kindness will live on forever.
