Nancy L. Meriwether

Nancy Lou Meriwether, 74, passed away on January 6, 2025. Services will be Friday, January 17, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr., Drive. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Josie Kelly, birth mother Nancy Thomas, son Walter L. Kelly; nine siblings William Harrison Beach, Walter Stone Jr., David Stone, Charles Henry Stone, James Baker, Ronnie Baker, (2) sisters Jessie Lee Stone, and Shirley Ann Beach.

She is survived by her beloved cousin “Polly” Anita Thomas, (3) God-sons Rodney Thomas Jr., Ryan Thomas, Richard Thomas, and her prophesied God-daughter Angela Thomas. She also leaves her God-given sister Charliese Jenkins (George), and the Jenkins family who loved her dearly; (2) sisters-in-law Jan Baker and Janie Stone. Additionally, her nieces, nephews, cousins, and all of her Shelbyville family members, especially her cherished friends from childhood, church, high school, and college.
