Gerridine Gipson

Gerridine “Gerri” Gipson, 81, passed away on May 2, 2025. Services will be Friday, May 16, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 1018 S. 15th Street.

Gerri is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Carpenter, father, Evander Carpenter, and brother Rudolph Jeans. She is survived by two granddaughters, Tasha and (Art) Bloomfield, and Jessica Wallace; grandchildren, Darius, Amaya and Amare; one niece, Angela Jeans and her two sons Evander and Alexander; five devoted cousins, Julia Turner, Eric Turner, Dr. Monique Turner, Cleveland Triplett, and Kitty Dear; her faithful friend, Ada Sheridan; and friend Sissy, who checked in on her up until she transitioned.
