Sharon C. Whitney

Sharon Carlanda Whitney, 65, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky. Services will be Wednesday, October, 14, 2026 beginning with visitation at 12 noon and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons, 951 S. Preston Street.

Sharon was the youngest daughter of late Hazel Lee Pearson and Robert Lee Daugherty, born in Lexington, Kentucky on July 19, 1961. She was a kind, warm-hearted woman whose presence could light up any room. She was a true diva who loved to keep herself together, always looking beautiful and carrying herself with grace. She loved to sing, share a laugh, and most of all, she loved seeing the people around her happy. Her heart was full of love, and she had a special way of making those she cared for feel seen, loved, and cared for. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, positive spirit, her warmth, her strength, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone blessed to know her. Sharon’s love will continue to live on through her family and all of the memories she leaves behind.

Sharon was preceded in death by her mother Hazel Lee Pearson, grandmother Beulah Beatrice Slade, and grandson Skylar Mason Whitney Jr. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her father Robert Lee Daugherty, her sister MeChelle Daugherty-Leslie, two loving sons, Monques and Skylar, two loving daughters Faith and Chloe, granddaughters: Adria, Autumn, Saniyah, Cherrish and Keira, grandson Khyri, great granddaughters:, great grandsons:, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many extended family and friends.
