Teresa Evelyn Priest, 66, fell asleep in death Thursday, January 30, 2020, in Louisville, Kentucky. Teresa was the first of seven children born to Matthew and Laura Priest on December 6, 1953. From an early age she was very family-oriented and was a nurturing big sister and reliable and helpful daughter. As a teenager she developed a hunger and thirst for Christ and his Word and was baptized. She worked at maintaining and deepening her relationship with God. During family Bible study she was very inquisitive about the meaning of God’s word and always listened intently to his word for answers. Doing his will was first and foremost throughout her life. Teresa graduated from Shawnee High School in 1971. She took courses at Jefferson Community College in the early nineties. She worked in customer service at Mitch Murch’s Maintenance in Missouri and Providian Financial in Louisville, Kentucky. She also worked as a cash deposit specialist for Citizens Fidelity Bank for a number of years. Teresa’s most cherished job was that of being a loving mother and grandmother. She gave her all to raise two fine young men and assist in nurturing and rearing her grandchildren. She was always supportive and never gave up on her children. Her desire was to nurture them in such a way that they would also be kind, loving and caring individuals, just as her mother had instilled in her. Teresa truly had a heart of gold. She was kind, generous, loving and humble beyond compare. All those who have had the pleasure of meeting and coming to know her have been touched in wonderful ways that can never be replaced. Teresa will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Teresa was proceeded in death by her parents Matthew and Laura Priest; and son, DeAngelo Cooper. She is survived by her son Nathaniel Priest (Susan); brothers Matthew, Mark (Licia), Peter and John; sisters Marguerite (Mark) Mayfield and Laura (George) Brown; loving friend and father-figure Hezekiah Tafari; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson and a host of cherished relatives and friends.
