DeShawn was born on September 25, 1977, in Louisville, KY to Curtis Davis and Sheila Kelly. He attended Jefferson County Public Schools and was a graduate of Western High School. He was employed by Derby City Gaming and Crushed Ice Catering. DaShawn accepted Christ at a very early age at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He was very athletic and played several sports…basketball, baseball, track, but his love was football. He played football as a child and four years at Western High School.

DaShawn will always be remembered by those tight eyes, big beautiful smile, his charm and bubbly personality. He would light up a room. Every female young or old was greeted (hey beautiful) with a big hug and kiss, and that laugh of his was one in a million. DaShawn had a strong love for his children, family and friends. He had such a giving heart. If he had it you could get whatever he had.  He was affectionately known by Kells, Kelly, Teddy and last but not least, the one and only PIMP JUICE.

DaShawn was preceded in death by his mother Sheila Kelly Sawyers who he adored! She would always refer to her and her boys as the 3 Amigos. DaShawn leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Curtis Davis who he had a special bond with; step-father, Eric Sawyers; his children, Austin Eaton, DaShawna Lester, TayShawn Cook and DaShawn Kelly, Jr.; bonus Children, Daja Powell, David Burnett ,Jatoya, Shakiera Lester, and DayWain Brewer; one granddaughter, Journei Ransom; siblings, Temetrius Kelly, Tamika Battle, Carmen Stevens, and Curtis Davis Jr; aunts, Eleanor Kelly, Jane January (Gregory), Joan Carter, and Gloria Gray (Ralph); uncles, Elmer (Linda), John (Diana) and Elliott Kelly, Kenneth and Ned (Sonia) Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
