Aaron Lee Johsnon, 65, passed away on August 18, 2026. Memorial service will be 12 noon on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Greater Israel Baptist Church, 1509 Magazine Street.

Aaron was born January 18, 1961. He transitioned from this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He lived a quiet and steady life here in the city. He grew up in Old Louisville, which explains his fascination with the architecture of those homes. One of his favorite pastimes was to take walks among these beautiful pieces of art.

Aaron was a quiet, reserved person, he spoke with few words. Even so, his warmth and caring shone through, he was not thoughtless, always speaking his truth and convictions. Once when going through a difficult time in his life, he met and was befriended by his beloved Bobby (Robert Edelen). Together they enjoyed going to Central Park and feeding the squirrels.  Aaron had many Joys in life. He worked at Churchill Downs and appreciated the excitement found around horse racing. He and Bobby opened their home each week for an old-fashioned family dinner and family fun. Aaron was a most gracious host.

Aaron was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Rhonda. He is survived by the family he lovingly adopted as his own: Bobby (his beloved partner), DeKecia James, Julia Edelen, Wanda Moore (Frank), Julius Edelen (Shirley), Charolette Edelen (Anna), Tommye Edelen, David Edelen, Nelle Blye, Paula Guinn, Rhonda Campbell, John Stewart, Tarit Hayes, and a host of friends.
