Alice Joy Summers, 68, passed away on July 6, 2026. Services will be Saturday, July 18, 2026 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at More Than Conquerors Christian Church,. 4600 Cane Run Road.

Alice Joy Summers was born on August 5, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Eugene and Ona Summers and quietly departed this life, July 6, 2026. She now joins her beloved son William “Lil Bill” Hogue and her companion of over 35yrs, William “Billy” Glover, in eternal peace.

Alice attended Shawnee High School and later received her GED. Late in her adult life she became a member of Bates Memorial Baptist Church, where she genuinely enjoyed hearing Rev. Dr. Bruce Williams preach on Sundays.

Alice was a devoted Louisville Cardinal basketball fan and would go toe to toe with anyone that didn’t have good things to say about her team, especially if they were touting her concerning the U of K Wildcats. She spent most seasons cheering on her cards with the love of her life, Billy. Alice had a great love for motorcycles that became the cornerstone of her life; a passion that extended to her now deceased son, Lil Bill, his father, Wild Bill Hogue, and the love of her life, Billy. I think it can be concluded that she had a thing for the Bills!

Alice didn’t meet a stranger and lived a full life even when having to reside with wheelchair assistance. If you ever saw her, she was zipping around the streets in her motorized scooter, never allowing her situation to suppress her living life.

Alice was a devoted daughter, loving mother, and cherished friend whose kindness and strength touched the lives of many.

She leaves behind her beloved son, Anthony Summers, stepchildren; Travis “Juan” Bradley, Tawana Hughes, Tracey Washburn, Tara Glover, and Justin Parker, siblings; Katie Summers, Sandra Hughes, Donald Summers, Mary Summers, and Patricia Summers; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Brandy Proctor- Hogue and a best friend of over 50yrs, Cynthia Francis Pennick as well as a host of other family members and friends. A very special thank you to Alice’s granddaughter, Annisha McElroy for being her caregiver.
