Annie Ruth Battle, 97, passed away on January 8, 2026. Services will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons, 951 S. Preston Street.

Annie was born to Essie Dennis and Frank Battle on March 27,1928 in Pike County, Montgomery, Alabama. She had the most brilliant smile and was always laughing. Her grandchildren would come from miles around for her homemade cakes. She worked at ‘Lucky Strikes’ for some years. She was a proud member of Cable Baptist Church.

She was a mother of seven children. She is preceded in death by: Geraldine Beason, Stephen Battle, Shirley Battle-Brock, Willie James Battle. She is survived by Sandra Fugett, Florice Matthews, and Edna Mae Battle; 16 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces & nephews. She is also preceded in death by three siblings, Joe Battle, Lillie Mae Parker & Samuel Dennis.
