Anthony Wayne Howard, 66, passed away on March 26, 2026 in Detroit, Michigan. Services will be Thursday, April 9, 2026 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons Funeral Home, 951 S. Preston Street. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.

Anthony was born on August 9, 1959, to Marian Howard Spriggs and Lawrence Briggs in Louisville, Kentucky. He received his education through the Jefferson County Public School System. After relocating to Detroit, Michigan, he continued his education and graduated from Perishing High School.

From a young age, Anthony displayed a strong passion for music, initially learning to play the piano and developing his skills to play by ear. He mastered both the piano and organ and contributed his talents to various churches across Washington D.C., Virginia, and Michigan. His faith and dedication to serving others were evident in his work, and he was well known for his warm smile and cheerful spirit.

Anthony will be deeply missed by his mother, Marian H. Spriggs, and his surviving family members, including his brothers Lawrence (Darla) Briggs, David (Lynn) Howard, and Michael (Beatriz) Howard; his sisters Beverly (Leslie) Perry, JoAnn Howard, Edris Howard, and Uwimana (DeAndre) Ivory, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
