Cherie Marie Edwards, 49, passed from this life on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Services will be Friday, July 24, 2026 beginning with visitation at 11 am and service to follow at 12 noon at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 1018 S. 15th Street.

Cherie was born on March 13, 1977 in Louisville, Kentucky to Deborah F. Edwards and Edgar Hoosier. Her mother is deceased and her father survives in Louisville, Kentucky.

Cherie experienced many circumstances that never defined who she truly was. She touched the lives of many through moments of kindness. In the face of tremendous challenges she had great determination. Those who knew Cherie remember her laugh, conversations, sense of humor and how she spoke her mind. She loved her children and family.

Cherie leaves to cherish her memory five children; Shannon, Shantrell, JiLynn, Daronika and Kurrenci. 3 grandchildren; Taahiya, Khaza and Khiron. 2 brothers; Alton Carter and Melvin Carter and a sister; Crystal Carter. 3 uncles; Arthur Edwards (Arnitia), James Edwards (Patricia), Rah’ja Crowder; Aunts; Constance Young (Cranston), Nicole Flowers (Aaron) and Mary Thompson. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother; Deborah Frances Edwards, and grandparents; Dorothea Jane Crowder and James Arthur Edwards.
