Christopher George Heard, 62, passed away on December 22, 2025. Services will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025 beginning with visitation at 2 pm and memorial service to follow at 3 pm at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive.

Chris was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1963 to Annie Heard and Phil Echols. He moved to Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of five, where he spent much of his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Annie Heard. Chris is survived by his sisters, Carla Heard, Barbara Heard, and Annie Bendingfield (Bubby); his brother, Wayne Heard; and a loving host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Chris attended school for a short time before becoming a hardworking man at a young age. In April 2000, he met the love of his life, Crystal Heard, and the two were united in marriage on April 4, 2004. He enjoyed music, playing dominoes, and basketball and football. He was a big sports fan who especially enjoyed cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was respected and deeply loved by all who knew him.

Chris now rests in the loving arms of the Lord, where there is peace, comfort, and everlasting life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him until we meet again.
