Services will be Friday, August 13, 2021 with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at Our Merciful Saviour, 473 S. 11th Street with interment in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery.

Christopher R. Redden. Sr. was born on February 15, 1946 to William Poynter Redden and Frances Louise (Cross) Redden.  He was called home July 29, 2021.

He was a graduate of Shawnee High School and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1968.  He served in the US Army and was deployed to Vietnam.  After four years of honorable service, he worked in finance for most of his remaining working years.

He was a devoted family man who loved and cared for his siblings as well as his children and grandchildren.  He was a diehard UofL fan and loved sports.  He spent free time as a volunteer softball coach for the Cabbage Patch Settlement house when he was able and also served on PTSA for Central High School.

He is preceded in death by both parents, his elder sister Wilma L. (Redden) Furman and younger brother Frederick A. Redden.  He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Christopher R. Redden, Jr. and Kimberly B. Redden; one brother, William E. Redden; one sister, Cassie I. (Redden) Shively; and three grandchildren, Mahagoni Redden, Adrian Redden and Krystianna Redden.  He is also survived by two great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends who mourn his loss.
