McCauley, Devin Allen, 23, passed away on August 14, 2018. Devin was loved and cherished by so many people, consistently racing to the aid of family & friends whenever called sometimes even when he wasn’t. A man who fulfilled many roles, could keep you laughing for hours on the silliest matter & bring life to the dullest party. If there is a measureable capacity for hardwork, Devin surely had it & if you need a role model for what loving/caring someone close looks like, you need only to remember his smiling face. It is rare to find a being who can touch the hearts of countless people in the short life he was given but this serves as a testament to how truly incredible Devin was.

He thought the world of his daughter Jayla McCauley. She was his everything & no matter morning, day or night he made it a priority to see his child. We all see him in her, a piece of him left with us & a memory of him that we can never forget. Devin imbued love in the hearts of many, is loved and will be forever missed by all of us.

Devin lives on in spirit & soul through his surviving family: mother Marsha R. Glover-Orr (Louis Orr), and father Dwayne McCauley Sr. (Vonderlon McCauley); grandmothers, Barbara Glover-Hunter and Virginia Cotton; grandfathers, Thomas Dickerson and Albert Nixon; fiance, Jordan White; daughter, Jayla McCauley; brothers, Chris Brooks (Amanda Brooks), Brandon Brooks (Ashley Brooks), & Dwayne McCauley Jr.; sisters, April Hardin (Tim Hardin), Desiree Cherry (Bryce Cherry), Shanae Brooks, twin-sister Denee McCauley, nephew Brandon Brooks Jr., as well as a score of step-siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.

Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, 1620 Anderson Street. Arrangements by Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons Funeral Home, 951 S. Preston Street.
