Gilliam, Frances V., 98 of Indianapolis departed this life on Sunday, December 24, 2017. Frances was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Her husband of 70 years, Clarence W. Gilliam, Sr., proceeded her in death. She was a member of Greater Northwest Baptist Church of Indianapolis, IN. She was educated at Louisville Municipal College and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1942. She later earned her Masters Degree in Education from Indiana University, Bloomington. After over 30 years of teaching, she retired and devoted her time to church and community pursuits. She is survived by two sons, Clarence W. Gilliam, II (Elaine), and Christopher P. Gilliam (Cheryl); six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive, Louisville, KY.
