Louisville –
Herbert W. Gibbs, III, 78, passed away on August 5, 2021. Herbert was retired from Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange, KY. After retirement he was employed by Allied Universal Security Services. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Vivian Gibbs; brother, Kenneth W. Gibbs; and sisters, Peggy Stewart and Lillian Drye. He is survived by his longtime partner Janet Rexroat; his son, Herb Gibbs IV; daughters, Alexis Odle (Samuel) and Mia Beaton (Christian); seven grandchildren; and sisters, Frances Truitt, Ernestine “Tina” Duncan, and Erica Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to covid with interment Louisville Cemetery. On behalf of our father, we would urge people to get vaccinated.
