Jerry Larue Summers, 62, passed away on December 23, 2023. Services will be Saturday, December 30, 2023 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.
Jerry was very blessed to have his daughter, mother and sister as caretakers. Jerry is preceded in death by his father William C. Summers, stepfather Carl Wright Sr., brothers William Summers Sr., Carl Wright Jr., Ronnie and Gary Spencer.
He is survived by his mother Geneva Wright, daughters Makeeba Summers Edmund and Jerri Summers Davis (Dale Sr. ), sister Darlene Ingram (Melvin Sr.) brothers Cecil and Fred Wright, former wife and lifelong friend, Patricia Simpson Summers. Grandchildren Ahmaad, Ahmari, Ahmaya and DJ and his best friend/brother William Snorton. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
