John Lionel Cummings, 81, passed away on October 9, 2022. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Friday October 14th. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15th at Greater Galilee Church, 3918 W. Broadway with interment in Green Meadows Cemetery.

John Lionel Cummings, known “Johnny Rob” was born on March 14, 1941 to the late Helen L. Cummings and Charles T. Robinson Sr. in Kimball (McDowell City) WV.

Graduated from Central High School and enlisted in the Air-Force, he was Para-Trooper. Johnny retired from Mead Container Co. and later went to work delivering pizza, for Pizza Hut retired from there as well.

Johnny lived his life to the fullest, he enjoyed collecting and working on cars, cars so many cars. Johnny also lived collecting guns. Johnny loved his family and was always there to help. He was the “BEST” father, brother, uncle and friend. Johnny didn’t have a problem speaking up and using a few choice words m***@#er during the conversation.

Johnny was preceded in death by his son Dwayne Sweatt; grandson, Erik Robinson; sister, Lillian Towns; brothers, Thomas Howard, Nathaniel Howard, Aaron Howard and Charles T. Robinson Jr.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memory, his children Erika (Ms. Prudance) Robinson-Cummings; Sharon Sharpe (Anthony) of Indianapolis IN, Frederick Thomas, Sr. (Nikiea) of Louisville KY; grandchildren; Paul Butler Jr., Kenneth Robinson Jr., Kendrick Robinson, Kendal Robinson, Kennetra Robinson, Aijalon Sharpe, Frederick  Thomas, Jr., Iyana Thomas, and

Kellie Ligon (Ryan); sisters, Ardelia (Dina) Weathers, Valerie Joyner, Jeanette Carter (George), Cecilia Robinson, Sherrill Robinson, Stephanie Lemon (Dennis); brothers, Edward Robinson (Loretta); former spouse, Janice Cummings; and the wife he never married, Ernestine Denton. Johnny; and numerous great-grandchildren; Johnny was also an anchor to many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
