Juanita Benberry Franklin, 82, passed away on January 29, 2024. Services will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Bates Memorial Baptist Church, 620 Lampton Street. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.
Juanita was a well know, kind loving woman. She was employed at the Fern Valley Holiday Inn as the head salad girl, housekeeping for the McKeller’s and the Mormons on Trevilian. She was a cook for Sisters of Nazareth and Hometown Buffet. She was an amazing caregiver from her children to her great grandchildren and working at Kidz Kozy Korner, where she resigned due to her illness.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband George T. Franklin Sr., brother Robert Arthur, Alfonso, Warren (twin) and Samual Thomas Benberry; sisters Betty Jean Benberry, Dorothy Dryden and Helen Jones; and grandson Kirk Franklin.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her children Rose Houchin, Ella Murphy (Earl), George T. Franklin II (Stephanie), Marthenia Franklin, Duncan Franklin (Melissa), Dorothy Thurman (Kevin), Ronald Hunter II, Deon Ellis; sister, Margaret Simms; 20 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
