Louisville – Leonard Eugene Crowdus, 92, passed away on January 29, 2022. He is survived by his children Diane Crowdus, Regina Newell (John), Leonard Crowdus (Latonya), and Troy Crowdus; sister, Bernice Foreman; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Monday, February 7th with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. and funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, 840 S. 26th St. Interment will be in Louisville Cemetery. Leonard Eugene Crowdus was born July 11, 1929 to Walter and Estelle Crowdus in Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elder Walter and Mother Estelle Crowdus, 2 brothers James and Walter Crowdus, sister Mary Bowen, first wife Jennie Crowdus, second wife Rosetta Crowdus, daughter Wanda Roby.

Leonard worked for Rockford Department of Education as the Transportation Field Supervisor until his retirement. He served as a mentor to the students, and he was well respected. Leonard was also an entrepreneur; he had a local business call Easy rider Limousine Service. He also served as Alderman of the 13th District in Rockford Illinois where is lived for many years.

Leonard was such a gentle man, he soft spoken willing to help anyone. He was the kind of person that had a passion for education, and he would encourage you to pursue your dreams. In 2010 he relocated back to Louisville and remarried his first wife Jennie. He later joined Greater Good Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry Sykes.
