Mattie Dee Keeton, 80, passed away on September 10, 2025. Services will be Saturday, September 20, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 11 am at Miracle Temple of Deliverance COGIC, 2208 Dixie Highway. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mattie attended school in the Quitman County School System. In the late 1960s, she relocated and settled in Louisville, Kentucky, where she met and married the love of her life, Robbie Keeton, on December 25, 1974. They were blessed with almost 49 years of marriage until his passing.

Mattie worked for Brown and Williamson as well as Masonic Homes Inc.. She eventually retired from Brown and Williamson. She attended Centennial Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Browning, where she rededicated her life to Christ. There, she served faithfully on the Usher Board for many years.  Mattie enjoyed and loved watching her favorite team, the Louisville Cardinals. She would attend games and passionately support her team. She also loved to travel all over the country with Robbie to visit her extended family and friends. Although she was not blessed with children, she deeply loved her nieces and nephews and was very family oriented. After retiring, Mattie’s favorite pastime was going to bingo with her best friend of 50 years, Barbara Whitfield. You could also find her sitting on her front porch enjoying the day or visiting her brothers and sisters.

Mattie was preceded in death by her husband Robbie Keeton; her parents Mose Bartee and Rose Carver Bartee; three brothers, Eddie James Bartee, Frank Bartee Sr., and Mose Bartee Jr.; and four sisters, Laura Taylor, Edith Henderson, Katie Evans, and Lucille Robinson.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her last living sibling, her sister Lettie Bartee; sister-in-law Susan Ford; best friend Barbara Whitfield; nieces and caregivers Sandra Wright and Tonia Bartee; special nieces Roxanne Ford, Audrey Bartee, Raven Bartee, Doris Merriweather, and Kayla Garmon; special nephews Willie Robinson Jr. and Ulysses Ford III; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, family members, church family, and friends.
