Melvin is survived by five children, Cheryl Bishop, Melvin L Parrish Jr., Kelvin Parrish, Diana Bobbitt ( Audraie), and Theresa Parrish; 5 grandchildren Shant’e Prewitt (Danny), Brittany Thomas, Whitney Thomas, Jenna Parrish and Zachery Parrish and 7 great-grand children. His sisters; Denise Parrish- Beckwith (Robert), Rebecca Stewart, and 4 brothers Richard (Tasha), Kenny (Brenda), Donald (Karen) and Phillip Parrish (Shalonda). A sister-in-law Alfreda Beaumont (Glen Phillip), and brother -in – law Tony Beaumont.
