Michael “Mooney” Harrison, 67, passed away on April 19, 2026. Services will be Tuesday, April 28, 2026 beginning with visitation at 9 am and funeral service to follow at 11 am at Cable Baptist Church, 1875 Farnsley Road. Interment will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Radcliff, KY.

Michael was born on October 17, 1958, in Louisville, KY to Rebecca Harrison Johnson and Virgil Harrison (deceased). He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, both domestically and abroad. His years in the military shaped his strong character and sense of duty.

While in the US Marine Corp and after completing his service, Michael pursed his true passion – cooking. Whether in a professional kitchen or at home, he enjoyed cooking. He was known not only for his culinary talent and service to his country, but for his love, care and concern shown to everyone around him, especially his family. Along his journey in life, he truly touched the hearts of all that he met.  Michael shared a special bond with his daughters and grandchildren and proudly embracing the role of “Pop Pop” and serving as a guiding father figure to his grandchildren.   He enjoyed watching his favorite NFL team, the Green Bay Packers, win or lose. He had a deep love for music and enjoyed all different genres of music to include old school, classics, gospel, jazz, rock and country.

He fought the good fight of being a Christian and expressed his love for God and Christ through his words and joyful tears as he shared how Christ had impacted his life. Michael was a man of faith who loved the Lord deeply

He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles Wallace Johnson; sister, Sharon Harrison-Epps; and granddaughter, London Gibson.

Michael is survived by three children; Sherrea Gibson, Mycole Harrison, and Dyamond Harrison; his grandchildren, Stuart, Devon, Santana, and Milani; his mother, Rebecca Harrison Johnson; his siblings, Toni Shelton (Michael), Angela Harrison, Karen Harrison-Harbin (Michael), and Rodney Harrison (Christy); and a host of nieces and nephews.
