Services will be Saturday, June 17, 2023 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Christ Church for Our Community, 1226 Krupp Park Drive.  

Quincy C. Sweatt Sr. was born November 15, 1944, to the late Hobart Golden Sweatt and Ellie Mae Beason-Sweatt in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Quincy C. Sweatt, Sr. 78, of Louisville, Kentucky peacefully left his earthly home on June 6, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents-Hobart Golden Sweatt and Ellie Mae Beason-Sweatt, and five of his siblings, James Beason Sweatt; Nola Virginia Edison; Ora Mae Burrus; Hobart G. Sweatt Jr.; and Rosie Sweatt.

Quincy accepted Christ at an early age and went on to serve Christ by serving others.  Quincy graduated from High Street High School in 1963 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  He was an all-around athlete; he participated in many sports while excelling in track, basketball, and football.  After graduating from high school, Quincy moved to Louisville, Kentucky with his parents. Shortly after moving to Louisville, Quincy was united in Holy Matrimony to Jacqueline Milliken Saafir, and to this union four beautiful children were born.  Quincy was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Quincy retired from United Catalysts, and continued working in the maintenance and janitorial industry until his death.  Quincy loved to volunteer his time helping others by volunteering at the Dare to Care food pantry and through his Vision of Hope Ministries.  He was also a 2001 Bell Award recipient. Many knew him as Mr. “Q” and he continuously showed undying love and compassion to the community, family members, and friends throughout his life.

Quincy leaves to cherish his legacy, his four children Carla Q. Sweatt; Quincy C, Sweatt Jr.(Minnette); Vernae C. Sweatt-Boyd (Stephen); and LaTrina G. Sweatt.  Eight grandchildren; Bryon L. Sweatt; Stephanie D. Boyd; Quincy C. Sweatt III; Brice L. Walker, Sydnie D, Boyd; Christian L. Walker; Samantha M. Boyd; and Azariah S. Sweatt.  Eight great-grandchildren, his sister-Oma Janell Watkins, his foster brother-Billy Dickerson, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and numerous friends.
