Robert Earl Johnson, Sr., 65, passed away on September 3, 2025. Services will be Saturday, September 13, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at Cable Baptist Church, 314 Wenzel St.
Robert was the second child born to the late Quintin and the late Fannie Fisher Johnson, as a young student Robert attended Stephen Foster Elementary, Shawnee Jr. High and Atherton High School.
Robert met and married Aloha Swinney Johnson on December 15, 2000, and were together until she passed on December 3, 2014.
Robert worked for the University of Louisville “University Club” for over 20 years as a Master Chef until Covid closed the club. Robert also worked at GQ Unlimited Clothing Store, and this is where he fell in love with the world of fashion and helped many customers in the city to obtain a wardrobe. He loved coordinating outfits with shoes and accessories. The last place he worked was Bucks Restaurant and Bar as a salad chef; this is where you can always find pictures of food he made and post it on Facebook.
Robert was an avid U of L fan, Pittsburg Steelers fan and loved to cook. He attended Cable Baptist Church, where he could be found on the pew with his cousins on Sunday morning.
Left to cherish his memories his son, Robert Johnson Jr. (Aria), Brothers, Mark Johnson (Della), Alfred Johnson, Carl Johnson, John Mathis and Cole Johnson (Natisha). Grand Children, Cloe, Mackenzie, DanAl Jr., Servanes, James, Demiah, Demia, Demontre, Demetrius, Lashawn, Leondre, Janiah, Adasia (Deceased). Stepchildren DanAl Swinney Sr.(deceased) and Demetrius Swinney (Lashae). Nephews, Colby James (deceased) and Malachi, Aunts, Rosa Evans and Marvaline Baker. Sister in Law’s Lori Starks (Joseph), Audrey Jones, Samanatha Johnson (Rowan), Brother in Law’s Danny Swinney and Donald Swinney(deceased). Special friend and mother to his son Lisa Tobin Ellis, friend Kim Curry. Also, a host of cousins, friends, coworkers and church family.
Robert, you will be greatly missed by all! You’re finally with Aloha, Mama and Daddy, Granny, Aunt Lady, Pig, Adasia, Big Mama, and Donald. We love You!
