Robert L. Johnson, 72, passed away on July 14, 2026. Services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2026 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 2973 Wilson Avenue. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.

Robert, affectionately known as “Blood,” was born on March 12, 1954, in Athens, Alabama, Robert lived a life full of hard work, humor, and cherished moments with family and friends.

Robert attended Warner Jr High School during his formative years. He later dedicated over two decades of his career to Executive West, where he worked in banquet setups. His commitment and diligence were evident throughout his time there until his retirement in 2010.

Known for his vibrant personality and sharp wit, Robert was truly the life of the party. He had a knack for making people laugh with his quick jokes and infectious sense of humor. A man of many interests, he enjoyed music, fishing with his buddies. Robert also had an impeccable sense of style and took pride in dressing sharply—a reflection of his lively spirit.

Robert is survived by his beloved mother, Virginia Mae Johnson; his youngest brother, Harry Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish their memories with him. He is preceded in passing by his brothers Wille James Johnson, Clarence Tony Johnson, and Leonard “Lee Lee.”

Those who knew Robert will remember him as a jokester with a kind heart and a love for life’s simple pleasures. May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
