Shalonda Irene Smith, 49, passed away on September 6, 2025. Services will be Thursday, September 18, 2025 beginning with visitation at 9 am and funeral service to follow at 11 am at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.

Shalonda is survived by her husband of 32 years, Charles Smith Jr.; their six children: Charles III, Christopher, Cameron, Shamaya, Shemar, and Shaylise; her siblings Raymond Freeman Jr. (Starr), Courtney Freeman (Jerri), and Kim Ceesay (Madi); her mother-in-law Belinda Smith; her Aunts and Uncles, Rosa Hagan (Herbert),  Fred Chandler, Jacqueline Neal (David), and many beloved nieces and, nephews, and extended family members.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a loyal sister, a sassy auntie, and a reliable friend whose strength and grace inspired everyone around her. Though her health battles were many, Shalonda’s life was defined not by illness but by love, laughter, and resilience.
