Shirlene Ann Jernigan, 71, passed away on December 19, 2025. Services will be Saturday, January 3, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at Ministries of Christ, 1701 W. Jefferson Street. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.
Shirlene Ann Marie Jernigan was born February 21,1954 to the late Sarah Mary Grundy and Frank V. Braugher. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Charlene Ann Walker and her brothers Henry (Sonny) Kinnion, Vatus Braugher and Frank Lee Harris Sr, her niece Shirlene Ellery and Raymond Burnley, whom she cherished and loved for the past 23 years.
Shirlene gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Village of Worship under the leadership of Bishop Anthony L. Handley. She was a member of the choir and in charge of the Hospitality Committee. She attended Jefferson County Public Schools. She loved to sing and dance. Shirlene loved to travel to Indianapolis with her sister to shop but when it came to ordering, Temu was her go to!! She was a true heart and if you came around her long enough would have something special for you!
She leaves to cherish her legacy of love to her only child Frank La’Monte Braugher (Renee); her sisters; Nevaviska Braugher, Maria Akers; her brothers Legarde Moses (Cindy), Garnett Vaughn (Claudette), Vini Braugher (Femi) and Stephen Walker. She had grandchildren; Phallon, Tytoriano, Antoinette, An’Nyssa, Shawn, Aereon, Keaynan, Ja’Taivian, Michall and Sarah. 21 great grandchildren, niece Sarah Newby and a host of family members and friends.
