Staphanie Lynn Young, 60, passed away on October 8, 2026. Funeral will be 11 am Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Little Flock Baptist Church, 1030 S. Hancock Street. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday also at the church.

Affectionately know as “Lady Bug”, Stephanie was born to the late Otto Weathers and the late Deloris J. Young. She was the 6th child of six. She accepted Christ early in life. She was a Sunday school teacher and adored member of Little Flock Missionary Baptist, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Bernard Clayton.

Stephanie attended PRP and Tapp High School. She worked at U of L hospital as Patient Ambassador for over 13 years and loved to do crafts as a side hustle. She was a God-fearing woman that loved and welcomed all. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Stephanie went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2026. She is preceded in death by her father Otter Weathers; mother, Deloris J. Young; son, Melvin J. Young; two sisters, Wanda L. Young, Joyce A. Brown; and one brother, Darryl Weathers.

She leaves to mourn two daughters, Ramona Young, and Chy-Anne Young; and two sons, Kelvin Young (Heather Marie), and Edward Young; one brother, Otto Weathers Jr.; one sister, Pamela Weathers; long-time spouse, Edward Barnett; long-time friend, Cheneth Brown; 26 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, Unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear. Forever in our Heart.
