Connie Elaine Hudson, 75, passed away on April 16, 2026. Services will be Saturday, April 25, 2026 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at new Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery. Connie was born on January 14,1951 in Louisville, Ky to the Union of Mildred Hudson and Hunter Hudson Jr. She received Christ at an early age at West Chestnut Street Baptist Church and along the way she joined Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in March of 1998. Connie graduated from Louisville Male High School in 1969. Connie worked at several places in Louisville, Kentucky, one was her starts was at Brown & Williams manufacturing company, but she retired from the Board of Education after teaching for over 20 years. Connie leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Monique Anthony (Mark); her late son Toriano (Tito) Hudson; her two sisters, Diane and Shermaine Hudson; three late brothers, Ronald, Donnie, and James Hudson; four grandchildren, Mark III, Mon’a Anthony, Timothy Hudson, and her late grandson, Torion Hudson; five great-grandchildren, Serenity, and Xavier Anthony, Mia, Kaiya, and Oakley Hudson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Connie was fun loving and enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. She also loved going to church and singing in the choir with her church members. Her favorite and most fun activity was going to Bingo with family and friends.

Sharon Denise Gough, 71, passed away on April 5, 2026. Sharon was born November 16, 1954, in Louisville, Ky., To the late Irene Barbour and John Gough. Sharon accepted Christ into her life at an early age and became a member at Von Spiegel Baptist Church. She attended Jefferson County Public Schools and was a Graduate of Central High School in May of 1972. Sharon worked for years at Central State Hospital, The Cabinet for Family and Children Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, Farm Boys, Marks Quick Stop, and a handful of other places. She was the kind of person you did not forget. She was funny, outspoken, full of personality, and never afraid to be exactly who she was. She could make you laugh when you needed it most and always had a way of saying what everyone else was thinking. She brought life, humor, and honesty everywhere she went, and the people who loved her will always remember her for the joy and realness she brought into their lives. More than anything, Sharon loved her family. She was fiercely protective of the people she loved. If you were hers, you were loved hard, defended loudly, and cared for deeply. That was just who she was. She was strong, loving, one of a kind, and impossible to replace. The space she leaves behind is enormous, but so is the love and laughter she gave during her life. Tonda L. Miles, 65, passed away on April 3, 2026. Tonda also known as "Ms. Tee", was born February 20,1961 in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Dorothy M. Tobin and Dave Pace. Tonda was the third oldest of seven sibling was preceded in death by her parents. Tonda was a proud graduated for Suda E. Bulter High School, May 1979. She later pursued higher education and earned her Associate of Applied Science degree Chemical Dependency from Louisville College November 1987. A woman of deep faith, Tonda was a devoted member of Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully served as President of the Missionary of Ohio Valley Presbytery. She worked for Optum Trover Solutions before retired. Tonda "Ms. Tee" live a vibrant and active life. She found joy in traveling, decorating for church events, shopping and giving back to her community, especially through her involvement in Breast Cancer awareness initiatives. She was also a proud member of social club including "Nobody's Angels, Backstage Entertainment, and the 7-11 Fox Club. Also she loved her NFL games and she was a die-hard Patriots Fan to the end. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her daughter Taewanna Anderson (Londell) and a bonus daughter Amber Johnson; grandson, Terron Miles; granddaughter Tay' Ana Choate (Treveon); and two great-grandchildren Shiloh Miles and Aurora Choate. She is also survived by her siblings: Tawanta Miles, David Miles, Adrain Tobin (Charlotte, Karen Sears (Alexander), Veloris Tobin, Shawn Tobin (Gabrielle), Rick Tobin, and Orenzio Tobin 111 (Ann). She put everyone else’s needs before her own and when one thought there was no more to give, Pam pushed on. Pam didn’t have any children of her own, but she touched the lives of more children and young adults than most of us will in a lifetime. She was a true servant of God and made sure the innocent children always knew stability, acceptance and a place to call home Pam had a lifelong commitment to service within her church and community. She always had a helping hand for the less fortunate, a smile to brighten one’s day and encourage words in times of need. Pam was the glue to our family. She lived and breathed family first. She could make us laugh until we cried and fussed at us, all in the same day. She loved hard, she taught us to be humble, yet confident in ourselves. She celebrated with us, cried with us, kept our deepest secrets but always showed us unconditional love. Pam leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great niece, and great nephews to cherish her memory. She leaves behind “her boys” whose lives she has forever touched, Amory and Armani. Austin is survived by his father, Brian Hampton Sr; his older brother, Brian Hampton Jr.; his younger sister, Rachel Grace Vittitow-Morales; his younger, sister Faith Johnson-Gay; and his younger brother James Johnson-Gay. Austin was known for his outgoing personality, quick wit, and a smile that could light up any room. His natural charisma and sense of humor brought joy to everyone around him, making him unforgettable to all who knew him. Austin had an incredible ability to find joy in the simplest things and to spread that joy to others. His resilience in the face of challenges was truly inspiring, teaching us all the value of perseverance and optimism. Though Austins time with us was cut short, the impact he made will last forever. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery. Anthony was born on August 9, 1959, to Marian Howard Spriggs and Lawrence Briggs in Louisville, Kentucky. He received his education through the Jefferson County Public School System. After relocating to Detroit, Michigan, he continued his education and graduated from Perishing High School. From a young age, Anthony displayed a strong passion for music, initially learning to play the piano and developing his skills to play by ear. He mastered both the piano and organ and contributed his talents to various churches across Washington D.C., Virginia, and Michigan. His faith and dedication to serving others were evident in his work, and he was well known for his warm smile and cheerful spirit. Anthony will be deeply missed by his mother, Marian H. Vester, affectionately known to all as "Junebug," was born on July 6, 1966, to Mattie Hayden and Vester Richardson, Sr. Junebug attended the Kentucky School for the Deaf, where he built lasting friendships and developed the vibrant, outgoing personality that would define his life. Junebug was a man who knew how to live. He had a genuine love for cooking, entertaining friends, and attending parties — and wherever he went, he was undeniably the life of the party. His infectious energy, warm spirit, and ability to bring people together left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Junebug never met a stranger, and his presence could light up any room. He leaves to cherish his memory five beloved children: Nikki Marie Richardson of Louisville, Kentucky; Kimberly Webber of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; Joshua Harvie Foreman of Paducah, Kentucky; Terrell Ty'Vek Richardson of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Tyreek Rashawn Dupree-Richardson of Farmville, North Carolina. June had 3 sisters and 1 brother who also preceded him in death. He went to Russell Jr High School. Charles married the love of his life, Emily Downs in 1962. He was known for playing music at the Yearlings Club and several other clubs in the Louisville area. June was known as one of the best guitar players in town. June had two sons Kenneth Downs and Morris Downs who preceded him in death. June leaves to cherish his memories 7 of his 9 children Dale Williams, Charlie Downs III, Mary Downs, Tammy White, Victor Downs Juan Downs, and Kesha Sweat. June had plenty of grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He will be missed by them all.

Antonio Jermaine Kennedy, 35, passed away on March 20, 2026. Funeral will be 12 noon on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at new Jerusalem Baptist Church, 2973 Wilson Avenue. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday also at the church. Antonio was born on Thursday, January 17, 1991, to Tonia Kennedy and the late Tyrone Murphy. He attended Jeffersontown High School and later enrolled in Youth Build Louisville, graduating in 2014. It was there that he discovered his passion for the construction trade. Antonio went on to work as a foreman with Durrty Excavation, where he took pride in his craft and leadership. He was a proud member of the TU motorcycle club, where his tough exterior earned him the nickname “Loco.” Yet those who truly knew him will remember the enormous heart beneath that exterior — a heart he shared freely with his three children, his family, and his many friends. Antonio also gave back to his community as a Little League Football coach for the Titans, pouring his energy and dedication into the young athletes he mentored. Antonio was preceded in death by his father, Tyrone Murphy; grandparents Leroy Murphy and Bernice Kennedy; and uncles Corey Murphy, Jermaine Murphy, and Tyrone Kennedy. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Ka’Naya Kennedy, Mariano Talon, and Akhlyi Kennedy; his mother, Tonia Kennedy; sister, LaTiesa Kennedy; brothers Germonte Johnson, DeMarcus Kennedy, Demetrius Kennedy, and William Kennedy Sr.; grandmother Margaret Coleman; nephews Kenneth Elliott III, Ronald Wadlington III, and William Kennedy Jr.; nieces Ronnaeja Kennedy, Kamiya Morris, and Ja’Mi McCoy; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply. Lamont carried the life badge of being a Son, Brother, Nephew, Father and Grandfather, and to the many friends and business associates outside of the family circle. God’s Divine will was manifested when he called Lamont early March 17, 2026, to His final resting home. Lamont was 54 years old. His spirit will last forever in our hearts and minds. Ronald Louis Moore, 69, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. He was born on September 24, 1956, in Louisville, KY, where he spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the community he loved. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 2973 Wilson Ave. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Ronald, affectionately known as “Patches,” was an Army veteran, devoted father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and a loyal friend to many. He found great joy in life’s simple yet meaningful moments cheering on his favorite teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Louisville Cardinals, attending sporting events, and most of all, supporting his daughter and grandchildren in all their endeavors. He cherished family gatherings and had a love for travel, always creating lasting memories that will be treasured by those closest to him. Known for his energetic personality and warm, ever-present smile, Ronald had a way of lighting up any room. He had a deep love for riding his bikes, something that brought him both peace and happiness throughout his life. “He loved his bikes.” His enthusiasm and spirit were truly unforgettable. Ronald dedicated many years of his life to working in construction and retired from the YMCA, where he continued to make a positive impact through his hard work and dedication. He is survived by his lifelong partner, Darlene Richards; his loving children, Ronnie Richards (Tyeshia) and Margaret Richards; his cherished grandchildren, Ryane, Ronnie Jr., and LeVeah Richards, La’Tayvia Stockton, William Elliott and great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Sharon Wilson, and his brothers, Vonallen Shobe, Samual Moore, Sisters In Love, host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Jesse Shobe; his sisters, Johnnetta Wales and Virga Mae Itson; and his beloved son, Levelle Richards, who will forever remain in his heart. Ronald’s legacy of love, strength, and joy will live on through his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Rhonda Diana Draper was born July 18, 1963, in Huntsville, Alabama. She graduated from Fern Creek High School in 1982 and went on to pursue a long career as a caregiver and medical professional in long-term care. Her warm and giving nature brightened the days of so many people, and being a caregiver was both her professional and personal calling.

Rhonda departed this life on March 13, 2026, at the age of 62 after a brave battle with ovarian cancer. She was preceded in death by her loving son, Michael Shawn Draper.

Rhonda leaves to cherish her memory her devoted mother, Betsy Draper; her loving siblings, Michele “Missy” Draper (Mark Coleman), Tony Draper, Dan Draper (Lindsey), and Damon Draper; and her beloved grandsons, Zion and Malachi. She will also be dearly missed by her close friends Michael Brooks (Darline) and Michelle Hopkins, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family.

Rhonda will be remembered for her generous heart and fierce protection of those she loved. Her big laugh and sense of humor carried her and her family through many difficult times. She was our anchor and our guiding light, and even at the edge of goodbye, her heart stayed fixed on one thing: that everyone she loved would be safe, held close, and cared for.

We will miss her every day—her laugh, her strength, and the way she made each of us feel loved—and we will carry her with us always.

Donald Edward Smith, age 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his family and friends, after a brief illness. He was born on July 6, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Albert Smith Sr. and Theodora Smith. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. March 21, 2026, at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens - West. Donald was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend, and a steady presence in the lives of all who knew him. He was known for his kindness, strength, humor, generosity, and strong work ethic, as well as for the way he made people feel safe, welcomed, and deeply loved. Throughout his life, Donald worked as a Supervisor at Ford Motor Company, where he took great pride in his work, providing for his family and helping others. An entrepreneur and public servant, he was the owner of Male Logistics II and served as a Special Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy (Badge Number 982). Donald was also a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 25. Outside of work, Donald found joy in spending time with his family and friends and in faithfully serving his church home, New Zion Baptist Church. Above all else, he loved God and his family deeply. Donald is survived by his loving daughters: Dionne Burns; Shannen Heyman (James); and Camille Smith. He leaves behind six cherished grandsons: Corrion Tyree Anderson (Dionne); Demetrius Jafar Lex Heyman, James Kuei Kier Lex Heyman, and Donevon Alexander Lex Heyman (Shannen); Sean Martin Smith and Corban Joseph Smith Brown (Camille). Daughtry is survived by her mother Arcelia Lorraine Mitchell; daughter, Michelle Jordan Phillips (Leon); siblings, Samuel James Gordon, Anthony Lorenzo Gordon (Germany), Penny Gordon-Smith and Martha Marie Santiago (Daniel); two stepsisters, Maria and Quinette Gordon; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Rev Patricia Daughtry was born September 11, 1955, to the union of the late Willie James Gordon and Arcelia Lorraine Copeland. She was preceded in death by her mother, Arcelia Lorraine Mouring (Concord, NC); brothers, Samuel James Gordon, Anthony Lorenzo Gordon (Germany); sisters, Orisa Penny Gordon Smith (Michael) (High Point, NC), Martha Marie Santiago (Daniel) (Concord, NC), Mariea Gordon, and Quinette Gordon (Lexington, KY). During her time in the military, she accepted Christ as an adult, and was baptized at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church (Colorado Springs, CO). She served twelve years in the United States Air Force, obtaining an Honorable Discharge and an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Administrative Assistant. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Boyce College). She was preceded in death by her mother Arcelia Lorraine Mouring and brother Samuel James Gordon. She survived by daughter Michelle Phillips (Leon) (HighPoint NC); sisters Orisa Penny Smith, High Point, NC , Martha Marie Santiago (Daniel) Concord, NC , Maria Gordon and Quinette Gordon, Louisville, Kentucky, one brother Anthony L. Gordon, Germany. Step-mother Deborah Gordon. 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She accepted her calling as a minister to preach and teach at New Life Christian Center in 1992 (San Antonio, TX). She moved to Louisville, KY in 1994, being led to join First Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in January 1995; she was licensed (04/1995) and ordained (09/2012) by Pastor T. Vaughn Walker. She served as associate minister, EDGE school teacher (4th & 5th grade girls), Leading Ladies Women Ministry Core Team member, and sang with the Voices of Praise choir. Although I did not have the opportunity to experience the blessings of a Christian home early in my life, through acquaintance with Christian friends in the military I came to know of God’s love and the salvation available to me through Jesus Christ. I accepted Him as my Savior and Lord at the age of twenty-nine. During my years in the military, I committed my life and the teaching skills He had given me to vocational service through the church. I have sought to prepare myself for such service through my college and seminary education through a teaching and encouraging ministry and a commitment to servant leadership. I strived to proclaim the Good News of God’s love, to help others encounter Him, to lead them in prayer and worship of Him, and to nurture their spiritual development and ministry involvement.

Uronda Denise Woolfok was born to the late Posey Lee and Lillie Mae Taylor on May 25, 1965, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the youngest of their five children and held a special place in the hearts of her family from the very beginning. At an early age Uronda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Eastern Star Baptist Church. She grew up as a fun-loving energetic child who truly enjoyed being surrounded by family. Known for her adventurous spirit, Uronda had a love for travel that began at an early age. As a young girl, she was actively involved in the 4-H Club often attending summer camps throughout Kentucky. She also treasured her travel experiences and the memories she made along the way from visiting cousins in Dayton, OH, to trips to Disney World in Orlando, Florida and attending the World’s Fair in Knoxville, TN. Later in life, she spent time working and living in Atlanta, GA with her children. Uronda was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System and attended Ballard High School, where she participated in the Junior ROTC. She later continued her education through the U.S. Jobs Corps program, where she received training in business and hospitality. She was previously united in holy matrimony to Jeffrey Woolfolk. Uronda transitioned from this life on March 8, 2026, at Rolling Hills Health Center in New Albany, Indiana, following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved siblings, Eula Jane Fox, David Lee, James and Dwayne Taylor. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Timothy Taylor, and Whitney Taylor, her four grandchildren, Shawn, Shumari, Ragen, and DeAndre; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends who will continue to carry her love in their hearts. She loved to travel, fine dining, write books and she loved to served The Lord Jesus Christ. Though faced with adversities since her youth, she counted them as out of her hands and persevered through her days unabated. Dana gave her whole heart to provide a loving home for her son, and she lived a vibrant life. She made her peace with God, and on February 25, 2026, he called her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Michael Powell. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Lewisburg, Tennessee. Eula was born on November 25, 1927, in Giles County, Tennessee, to the late Eugene and Arlie Cotham. At an early age, Eula professed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Round Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lynnville, Tennessee, where her first husband, Edward Braden, was a member. She was united in marriage to Edward Braden, and to this union Patricia and Gene Braden were born, along with four additional children whom she lovingly embraced. After Edward’s passing, she later married Mitchell Sowell. She joined her husband in becoming a member of Second Avenue Church of Christ in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Following Mitchell’s passing, Eula moved to Louisville, Kentucky, purchasing a home next door to her daughter Patricia. Determined to find a church home where she truly felt she belonged, she eventually found that home at West Broadway Church of Christ. She moved her membership from Tennessee and remained a faithful member there until her passing. Eula was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Edward Braden and Mitchell Sowell; her brothers, James and Roy Cotham; her sisters, Sara Mootry and Bettye Bonner; her sons, Gene Braden, Edward Martin, Edward Jordan (Jurdie), Ernest Braden, and Bobby Braden; her grandchildren, Bobby Braden, Jr., Jeffrey Moore, and Richard Ernell Crutcher; Son-In-Law, Danny Williams along with many other beloved family members. He joined Beech Street Church of Christ when he moved to Louisville, finally settling at Newburg Church of Christ upon the completion of its construction. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Leroy Russell, Jr., Hollis Russell, and James Russell; his sisters Berniece Russell and Ocie Sharpley; and his beloved grandson, Anthony Russell. Charles shared many beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Patsy. Together they built a strong and loving family that will continue to honor his legacy. Charles was defined by his work ethic, integrity and his unwavering devotion to his family. Charles will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and a steady presence in the lives of all who knew him. Alvin was a man full of life and personality, he loved to sing and dance had lots of smooth energy even when he walked and did he like to dress was super sharp when he did. Alvin loved sports as a young man he played baseball and basketball and became a referee. He loved fish and most of all helping others. He may be seen transporting his neighbors to and from the store or doing yard work ,or community project keke’s sistas keepers on top of list he loaded and unloaded for many of their outreach events with his truck. He was very knowledgeable on his politics and actively engaged in issues that matters to him . In his later years renewed his relationship with Christ and Joined New Start Ministries under Pastor Terrance Hearn where it was so evident he was happy in his soul and spirit. Everyone that knew Alvin loved him and enjoyed his sense of humor and his quotes and way with words. He will be deeply missed in the Flaget Community. He was preceded in death by his mother Ozzie Lee Wright Malone Mumphrey, brother McKenley Wright Bell, sister, Celester (Ann) Wright Huges (Leon), Embry Lee Wilson Maolne . Demetrius Lamont Fant, 47, passed away on February 6, 2026. Services will be Saturday, February 14, 2026 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at King Solomon Baptist Church, 1620 Anderson Street. Demetrius was truly loved and left a lasting impression on everybody who knew him. He was from 28th Street and was proud of where he came from. He loved to tell jokes and keep people laughing. He was a proud graduate of Seneca High School, Class of 1997. He did not have a church home, but he attended King Solomon Baptist Church from time to time. Demetrius shared over 20 years of love with his significant other, Lakesha Young. Their bond was built on loyalty, growth, and standing by each other through everything life brought their way. He loved music and could always be found riding with 8Ball and MJG, South Circle, and Mr. Mike playing loud. He loved money, not for flash, but because his biggest goal was always to make sure his kids were good. He enjoyed playing basketball, and had a real love for cars and riding. He lived life his way, stayed true to himself, and stood solid for the people he loved. Most of all, He loved hard. He showed up for his family and friends, protected those close to him, and left behind memories that will never fade. Though his absence hurts deeply, his love, laughter, and spirit will live on through everyone who knew him. He was a proud and devoted father. His children were his heart and his biggest motivation. Everything he did, he did with them in mind. Demetrius loved music and could always be found riding with 8Ball and MJG, South Circle, and Mr. Mike playing loud. Demetrius was preceded in death by his baby girl Christiana Lynn Fant who he loved deeply and spoke of; losing her was something that stayed with him he’s also proceeded in death by his grandparents, Mamie Fant and Bennie Fant. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving parents Deborah Fant and Robert Pointer his kids Demetrius Fant Jr Diamond Hanserd Christian Fant and Christina Fant; siblings, Mahogany Fant, DeAndre Fant, Tomeka Crawford, Derrick Wickliffe, and Brandon Crawford, And also his loving nieces and nephews and Grandchildren. He leaves behind a close circle of friends who meant the world to him and stood by him through life. Their bond ran deep, and they shared countless memories, laughs, and real moments together. Those friends include James Moore, Devin Henderson, Eugene Henderson, Lavon Crayton, Willie Ford, and Montez D’mon. He also carried the memories of Shawntez Coleman and Courtney Otis close to his heart and never forgot them.

Anna Lorraine Hughes, 86, passed away on February 5, 2026. Services will be Saturday, February 14, 2026 beginning with the visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Star Hope Baptist Church, 5009 E. Indian Trail. Interment will be in Petersburg/Newburg Cemetery. Lorraine worked at the University of Louisville Hospital for 30 years. After retirement, she stayed active working in organizations such as NCNW, NAACP as well as being very active as a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church. She began attending Star Hope Baptist Church when her health began to decline. Lorraine’s favorite past-time was picking up her grandson, Jeramy, to “ride around” and then stop at restaurants to eat food neither of them should be eating with their diabetes. Lorraine also worked with her grandson Jeramy in the Infield Ministry on several efforts to improve the Petersburg and Newburg communities. Lorraine married Dennis Hughes Sr right after college. After her divorce, she worked to build a home for herself and two kids in the Petersburg neighborhood while also working to put her two children through college. Lorraine leaves to greatly miss her a son, Dennis Martin Hughes Jr (Bette), a daughter, Angela Rebecca Kelly (Andre); three grandchildren Alethea Allen (Geoff), Imani Olivia Kelly and a grandson who preceded her in death, Jeramy Bahir Hughes; three great-grandchildren Myeah, Bastian and Kallel Allen; three brothers, Ernest Clay Harris (Lenora), Richard Harris (Earlica), Clarence Harris (Tonya) and William Russell Harris – deceased (Wendy); nephews Ernest Clay Harris Jr, Bruce Harris (Kara), Richard Harris Jr (Annie), Byron Mays, Ryan Harris (Khasha), Dylan McIntyre (LaWanda), Michael C Harris Sr, Derrick McIntyre (Nikki) and one niece Rachella Harris; three cousins raised as siblings, Connor (Sandra), Donna Matthews (Ronald) and Marvin Connor (deceased) as well as a host of family, friends and loved ones. She was a cherished sister to five sisters and three brothers, a loving mother to her two children, Andre Starling and Jasmine Starling, and a devoted grandmother to her pride and joy, Ja’Mya Starling. Her love for her granddaughter knew no bounds—Ja’Mya held a place in her heart that was truly unmatched. She now reunites in eternal rest with her paternal grandmother, Lorraine Wickliffee; her maternal grandparents, William Starling and Frances Howard; and her beloved brother, William David Evans. T’Andra was known for her overly playful and extremely goofy personality. She had a laugh that filled rooms, a voice that carried stories, and a presence you could never ignore. She was unapologetically talkative, full of life, and persistent—never giving up on anything she set her mind to. If T’Andra wanted something, she worked for it, believed in it, and made it happen. A lifelong creator, T’Andra was always working on some kind of project—bringing ideas to life, gathering people together, and making memories along the way. She loved family gatherings, dancing, and playing her favorite bumping music with joy and freedom. Her home and heart were always open. T’Andra also had a deep love for modeling and acting, a passion that brought her confidence, creativity, and joy. She embraced the spotlight and, more importantly, made space for her family in it—taking time to introduce modeling and acting to her children and her granddaughter, encouraging them to explore self-expression, confidence, and creativity alongside her. She was proud of her accomplishments, including earning her Associate degree in Paralegal Studies. Professionally, she served her community with compassion as a medical transporter and later took a bold step by creating her own medical transportation business—another reflection of her determination, independence, and work ethic. Above all, T’Andra loved her family fiercely. In addition to her children and granddaughter, she shared a special bond with her god-daughter, Tynedra, and was deeply grateful for the care and compassion shown to her by her devoted caregiver, Banaz. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Delores C. Jackson Shemwell was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 2, 1936. She was the last of ten children born to the late David and Minnie Jackson. Delores accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at six years old at First Gethsemane Baptist Church under the pastor-age of the late Rev. Rufus Hughes. She was educated in the Louisville Public School System and a graduate of the Historic Central High School. She was later employed by Jefferson County Public School System as a reading instructor for 27 years.

She married the late Charles Shemwell III in 1956. To this union three children were born—Wayne, Charles IV and Carol. She served in many capacities in her life including but not limited to being a licensed cosmetologist.

She leaves to mourn her passing her: three children, Wayne Shemwell (JoAnn), Charles Shemwell, and Carol Shemwell; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other friends, relatives and loved ones.

Cha Cha attended Jeffersontown High School. He was well liked for his laid back personality. Cha Cha never knew a stranger. His friendships ranged all over the city. You could always catch him at California Park Day and Victory Park Day. Cha Cha accepted Christ and joined Zion Baptist Church in the early 2000s. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beautiful daughter, Jazmine Young. He is survived by his wife Katherine Williams; his children Bret Williams (Amber), Cierria Williams (Gareth), and Mackenzie Williams (Ricky); and his cherished grandchildren Josh, Greyson, Paisleigh, Ricky IV, Rosalie, Kole, Kai, and Lainey, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his mother Sandra, his father Mike, his brothers Steven, Robert, Mike, and Brian, his sisters Jana, Tara, and Melissa, his grandmother Finnie, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Robert Williams and Grandmother, Patsey Jones. Shawn was known for being hard-working and generous, always willing to lend a hand and put others before himself. A lifelong carpenter, he spent his career remodeling houses, taking pride in his craftsmanship and the things he built with his own hands. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren how to build and make things, passing down not just skills, but time, patience, and love. Family was everything to Shawn. He especially enjoyed taking his friends and family to University of Louisville games, creating memories filled with laughter, togetherness, and tradition. She attended Central High School, where she enjoyed singing, drawing, and dancing. Lady had a lively personality that lit up any room and would bring smiles to many. She had no problem telling it like it is, while making sure you knew she did it out of love. She loved spending time with her family and watching shows like American Idol and Sunday’s Best. Her favorite artist was MO3, whose music she deeply enjoyed. She dedicated 34 years of hard work to Teas Dale, formerly known as Mesa Foods, where she worked diligently up until her final days. Interment will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY. Rev. James Edward Fitzpatrick, born June 19, 1949, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful servant of God, and tireless community advocate, transitioned from this life surrounded by love and legacy. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Rev. Fitzpatrick was a man deeply rooted in faith, education, and service. He graduated from Tennessee State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, and continued his theological education at American Baptist Theological College. During visits to Louisville between 1979–1980, he also attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, further preparing himself for a life of ministry. Rev. Fitzpatrick began his ministry at Temple Baptist Church in Nashville under the leadership of the late Bishop Michael Lee Graves. There, he faithfully served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher for the Men’s and Deacon’s classes, President of the Usher Board, youth winter retreat coordinator, and mentor to young boys in the church mentoring program. His calling was formally recognized in 1979, when he became a licensed minister. Answering God’s call, Rev. Fitzpatrick later moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where he joined New Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. Russell Awkard. He served as Associate Minister and worked closely alongside Pastor Awkard. His ministry at New Zion was expansive and deeply relational—he was an active member of the Cushites Men’s Ministry, President of the Good News Prison Ministry, and senior teacher of the R.E.A.C.H. Sunday School class, affectionately known as “The Family.” Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Fitzpatrick lived his faith through action. He was employed as a Case Manager at Phoenix Family Health Center, where he taught classes twice a week to individuals experiencing homelessness and those recovering from addiction. He was known for going the extra mile—helping people secure housing, Social Security benefits, and medical care, while offering dignity, encouragement, and hope. Rev. Fitzpatrick also faithfully served as a visiting minister to church members in hospitals and nursing homes, ensuring no one was forgotten and that compassion remained at the center of his ministry. Rev. James Edward Fitzpatrick leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his wisdom, faith, and gentle strength. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marlene Fitzpatrick; his daughter, Ebony Fitzpatrick; his stepchildren, Christie and Saundra; his beloved grandchildren, Adia, Cory, Imani, and Oshun; his sisters, Yvonne and Lynn; and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family members, church family, and countless lives touched by his ministry and service. Rev. James Edward Fitzpatrick’s life was a testament to servant leadership, unwavering faith, and love in action. He was blessed at Greater Faith Baptist Church by Rev. Marcus McCollum. He later attended St. Stephen's Baptist Church. Tony attended Central High School, where he made many friends. He also graduated from ITT Tech. He was great at math! He worked for Zoeller and later for Nedcom in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Family and friends were a very important part of Tony’s life. He grew up in the Phoenix Hill neighborhood, where he made many lifelong friends. He and his cousins really loved spending time together at Grandma Rice’s house. Tony really thought of himself as a grill-master and loved family gatherings. He was an avid sports fan, and he loved the UofL Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. If he could, he would give you the shirt off his back. He was so generous; when it came to being a father, his kids were his number one priority. Tony’s smile was always present, even when life challenges were overwhelming. He met and married his wife, Sharra Tavis, on January 30, 2009. They shared a very special bond.Together, they shared 6 children, and he loved them all equally. Tony had 3 children, and Sharra has 3 children. Tony spent a lot of heart and intention into making sure his blended family truly worked. He showed up and made an effort to ensure everyone felt included and supported. Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, John R. Rice Sr. and Ida Mae Rice; his stepmother, Rebecca Rankins; one uncle, John R. Rice Jr.; one great-aunt, Catherine Jewell Johnson; two aunts, Veranda G. Rice and Elease Rice-Bradford; one brother/cousin/best friend, Ervin D. Rice Jr. (Winky); and his father-in-law, Ronzel Tavis. He is survived by his wife, Sharra T. Born to Leroy and Catherine Ray in Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Ray was one of four children, having two brothers and one sister, all of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Bernice Ray, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. From this union, they were blessed with six children. He was also the proud father of a daughter, Leica. Mr. Ray was the loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy. He honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career, retiring from both the United States Post Office and UPS. A man of faith, Mr. Ray was a devoted member of Portland Memorial Baptist Church. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling and was an active participant in the Retired Servicemen’s League for many years. Dena dedicated her life to a career at Norton’s Health Care. As a teen, recruiters came to her school, and she was the only one to raise her hand to accept the job. Dena always had a heart for others and a willingness to help anyone in need. Her soft demeanor and quiet strength allowed her to minister through her actions to so many throughout her career. She will be deeply missed by countless people in the community. Dena is survived by her mother Edith Thomas, brothers, John Thomas (Faye), Anthony Thomas (Kim), and sister Beverly Thomas. Anthony’s children Tori and Anthony Jr., and Beverly’s son, Matthew. As well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James Thomas, brothers, James Thomas Jr. and Leo Thomas. Her sisters, Ruby and Stephanie Thomas, as well.

Betty Jean Liberto, 76, passed away on January 15, 2026. Service will be Friday, January 20, 2026 beginning with visitation at 9 am and funeral service to follow 11 am at Green Castle Baptist Church, 4970 Murphy Lane. Interment will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Betty Jean Liberto began her earthly journey on June 19, 1949, in New York City. The third of three children, she was affectionately known in her younger years as “B J.” Betty grew up with a strong sense of family and community and graduated from East Side High School in Paterson, New Jersey. After relocating to Baltimore, Maryland, Betty dedicated many years of service to the U.S. Social Security Administration. She took great pride in her work and was honored multiple times throughout her career for her commitment and excellence. Betty truly enjoyed what she did and the people she served. Betty was well known for her much-anticipated Annual Christmas Gathering, a tradition that reflected her generous spirit. Every guest was welcomed with warmth, and each person received a carefully chosen gift—no one was ever forgotten. She found joy in working crossword puzzles, holiday cooking, savoring crabs with a cold drink, and settling in with a good crime novel. A woman of style, Betty loved her clothes and took pride in dressing well—always polished, always sharp. She was also a woman of faith and attended Portland Memorial in Louisville, Kentucky. Her most cherished role was that of grandmother. Lovingly called “GiGi” by her grandchildren, Betty was a devoted caregiver whose love and generosity in their lives knew no bounds. Betty, was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Liberto and Elizabeth Oliver, and her twin brother, Thomas Oliver. Celebrating her life and cherishing precious memories are her loving partner, James E. Wise; her sons, Mark Liberto (Nicole) and Tamal Liberto (Rebecca); her sister, Bessie “Vicky” Briggs; her grandchildren, Tavon A. Liberto, Anissia I. Liberto, Montre L. Liberto, Jason A. Liberto, and Trinity N. Liberto; four great-grandchildren; nephews James E. Briggs, Akiem Anthony, and Keith W. Williams; nieces Tracy Y. McCready and Nicole L. Irma was a mother, big sister, beloved grandmother, and aunt who leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and love of family. Irma was the heart of her family, radiating a love that was the cornerstone of their lives. She never met a stranger; her bright, open spirit and genuine interest in others meant she could strike up a conversation with anyone, making fast friends wherever she went. She valued her independence and lived life on her own terms, a trait that inspired everyone around her. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures and its occasional thrills. A trip to the casino always brought a spark to her eyes and a smile to her face. In her quiet moments, she could often be found indulging in her favorite treats: some candy and a cold Pepsi. However, nothing gave her more joy than being a friend to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Above all, Irma’s deepest appreciation was for her daughter. We know her gratitude for Ms. Rita ran deeper than words could ever explain, a bond of love and support that was truly unconditional. Irma’s presence brought light and liveliness to every gathering, and she will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Rev. Ronald L. Holder, 76, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2026 in Bagdad, KY. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery. Ronald attended Louisville Public School. He is a graduate of Simmons University Bible College where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. He attended Kentucky State University and Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He is the recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Simmons Bible College. He accepted Christ as his personal savior, baptized and accepted his call into the gospel ministry. Ronald was licensed and ordained under the pastorate of Rev. Dr Thurman Coleman Sr. at the First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown, Kentucky. Rev. Holder was called to Clay Street Baptist Church in 1977. In a few years he led his congregation in the building of a new worship center, educational and fellowship hall facility. In eight years the twenty-year mortgage was paid off in full. He was active in The General Association and Central District. He was a member of the Shelbyville Ministerial Coalition and President of many groups in the Church. Ronald leaves to cherish his memories a loving devoted wife Ronesa Holder; three sons, Ronald Holder Jr., Aaron Holder, and Ronyale Holder; five stepdaughters, Edra Coleman, Andrea Coleman (Aundrea Coleman) Amber Coleman, and Brittany Taylor; siblings, The late Donald Lee Holder (Terri Holder), Alona Pack, Judy Hampton, (James T. Christopher George Heard, 62, passed away on December 22, 2025. Services will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025 beginning with visitation at 2 pm and memorial service to follow at 3 pm at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. Chris was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1963 to Annie Heard and Phil Echols. He moved to Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of five, where he spent much of his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Annie Heard. Chris is survived by his sisters, Carla Heard, Barbara Heard, and Annie Bendingfield (Bubby); his brother, Wayne Heard; and a loving host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Chris attended school for a short time before becoming a hardworking man at a young age. In April 2000, he met the love of his life, Crystal Heard, and the two were united in marriage on April 4, 2004. He enjoyed music, playing dominoes, and basketball and football. He was a big sports fan who especially enjoyed cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was respected and deeply loved by all who knew him. Chris now rests in the loving arms of the Lord, where there is peace, comfort, and everlasting life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him until we meet again.

Camellia Ann Moss "Connie", 74, passed away peacefully at the Riverbend Nursing Facility on December 21, 2025. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery. Connie was born on October 23, 1951 in Louisville, KY to the late King Dean and Cleopatra Bell Moss, in which she was the “baby” of the family. At age 10, Connie accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized at West Chestnut Street Baptist Church. Connie was a talented soprano, who enjoyed singing in her church for more than 60 years. She was a member of the Junior Choir, the Voices of Inspiration, and the Church Choir. Connie graduated from Theodore Ahrens Trade High School on June 3, 1969, and attended business school at Spencerian Commercial College. In 1971, Connie married Jose Beckley and from this union they welcomed their son, Anthony Troy Beckley in 1972. In 1986, approximately 1 year before the death of her father, Connie assumed the guardianship of her younger sister, Rachelle, and supported her growth and development until she graduated high school. Connie worked at PNC Bank supporting the legal and trust departments. She retired after 25 years of committed service. In 2004, Connie began a second career as an executive assistant for the counselors at Central High School. After 10 years of impactful service towards all of her “little darlings” of Central High, Connie retired in 2014. Connie loved fellowshipping with family, singing, dancing, and playing games (Spades, Taboo). She was also known as “Classy Diva” of the “Divas” and was often found celebrating birthdays and special occasions with this group of 12 women. Nothing was more important to Connie than God, family and close friends. Connie is survived by her son, Anthony Beckley (Marlo), 4 grandchildren, Kamiel, Kristian, Charon, and Zaria, her brother, Michael Moss Sr. (Adriane), her sister Rachelle Conley (Lydell), and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and cousins, who she affectionately called “my little darlings”. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Adrielle Moss and Hazel “Penny” Lane, her brothers, Roderick Dean Moss Sr., Lawrence Dean Moss, Emmett King Jr., and Karl Dean Moss.

Shirlene Ann Marie Jernigan was born February 21,1954 to the late Sarah Mary Grundy and Frank V. Braugher. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Charlene Ann Walker and her brothers Henry (Sonny) Kinnion, Vatus Braugher and Frank Lee Harris Sr, her niece Shirlene Ellery and Raymond Burnley, whom she cherished and loved for the past 23 years. Shirlene gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Village of Worship under the leadership of Bishop Anthony L. Handley. She was a member of the choir and in charge of the Hospitality Committee. She attended Jefferson County Public Schools. She loved to sing and dance. Shirlene loved to travel to Indianapolis with her sister to shop but when it came to ordering, Temu was her go to!! She was a true heart and if you came around her long enough would have something special for you!

She leaves to cherish her legacy of love to her only child Frank La’Monte Braugher (Renee); her sisters; Nevaviska Braugher, Maria Akers; her brothers Legarde Moses (Cindy), Garnett Vaughn (Claudette), Vini Braugher (Femi) and Stephen Walker. Jameel was born on December 1, 1989 in Louisville, Kentucky to Sherrell Anderson and Peter Williams. He attended Gutermuth Elementary, Noe Middle and Iroquois High School. Jameel was a relocation specialist. He assisted others with a smooth transition to go from one home to another or one state to another. He loved using his hands, putting in a hard days work. Growing up Jameel's infectious smile and determination carried into sports and his love of cooking. In his free time Jameel loved music, gambling, playing dominos with the “Ogs” and spending time with his children, nieces and nephews. He would often be found doing trivia questions with the children. Jameel has two children Jameel Williams Jr, Jalen Williams and Baby Jae whom he precedes in death (December 14, 2025). Jameel will be remembered by his resilience, street smarts, unwavering loyalty. He will be missed by many family, friends, and folk. He was deeply loved by all that met him. Vincent was a diehard U of L fan, and loved most sports. He was constantly searching for treasures and you never knew what he was going to show you. It could be baseball cards, old coins, antique collectibles, clothes or his main passion of shoes and hats. He loved music and was always down to watch a good movie. If you know Vincent, you know that his most prized possession was his family. He was part of our most cherished memories and he will be missed in all our milestones to come.

Charles was born on October 17, 1939.He was the third child born out of eight to William Edward Kennedy, Sr and Macie Smith Kennedy, both who preceded him in death. His older brother Edward Kennedy, Jr. and younger sister, Macie Nanette Becker also preceded him in death. Mickey loved the Lord and accepted Christ at a young age. He also loved his church Stoner Memorial AME Zion. He was a member of the Brotherhood Chorus, Church Choir, Sunday School, Finance Committee, and was Preacher Steward for two Pastors throughout his time at Stoner. He served faithfully until his health wouldn’t allow him to do so. Mickey was educated in the Jefferson County Public School system. He graduated from Central High School in 1957. He served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. He was affectionately known to some as Lt. Flap, which was a character in the Beetle Bailey comic strip. (If you know, you know) Lol. There were several attributes to his character that made him who he was. He was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, mentor and friend. He enjoyed several hobbies. Motorcycle riding, photography, fitness, upholstery and his favorite bowling. He loved his family dearly; he gave soulful handshakes and gave the best hugs. If you ever received one you know what I mean. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him. Doris Jean Snordon, 84, passed away on November 28, 2025. Doris Jean loved the Lord and one of her favorite gospel songs was, “Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine!”. Doris Jean attended Central High School where she was a majorette for the black and gold Yellow Jackets. She worked Brown and Williamson and in later years she worked for Metro Louisville where she was well loved and respected. She used her influence at Metro to help her community, and she was instrumental in getting her Alderman to reopen Fountain Ferry Skating Rink before it was torn down years later. Doris Jean often took care of the children of working parents. She was affectionately known by many as “Mama Jean.” She helped raise many kids besides her children and grandchildren. She also helped feed many people over the years and was known for her great cooking, especially her desserts. She waw also known for her trips to the Bingo Hall, where she had so much fun with friends and family throughout the years. Doris Jean was preceded in death by her mother Pauline Carter and her stepfather George Carter. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandson Marco Roberts. She is survived by her son Alonzo Roberts (Cheryl), her daughter Prophetess Paula McIntyre (Prophet Rodney), and her daughter Ashley Snordon Gibson (Duke). She is also survived by five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends.

Jamesetta was born July 7 , 1943 the second child to the union of James and Esther Belle McIntyre, they both proceeded her in death, in addition to her parents she was also proceeded in death by Ernest L Jeffries Sr.(husband) , stepdaughters; Gail and Revelle and sisters Sharon, Yolanda, Joyce, Sandra and brother Coffy Jamesetta loved the Lord,and accepted him as her personal savior at a young age. She was baptized at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Rev. J.W. Adams. Jamesetta or “Tootsie Roll” as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was educated in the JCPS school system. Tootsie Roll retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. She went into the catering business with her sister Dorothy Kennedy. She loved baking cakes and decorating for all types of functions. She made some beautiful wedding cakes that was so delicious. Tootsie enjoyed making her famous Christmas cookies and sending them out to everyone with love. She enjoyed organizing and putting together family reunions or any family function. ( always the 3 musketeers Jean, Barbra Ann, Tootsie) the golden girls who handled all the family functions. She loved her family and friends. Tootsie loved her church family. She enjoyed working with the youth (YCBS). She was a Teacher, Bus monitor & Craft instructor. She made all the Y.C.B.S plays come alive. Tootsie roll was the director's right hand. She enjoyed working on the C.A.R.E ministry. Tootsie Roll worked with the Bereavement ministry. If you ever received a card, flowers, Afghan, or fruit basket she was the one who sent it on behalf of the church. She also was the Secretary for the care ministry. Tootsie enjoyed the Wednesday night Bible study and the Friday night Bible study with the passionate seekers. Whenever she could be assistance to the church she would. Tootsie was a (UK) Big Blue Fan. She enjoyed watching and commentating plays on the basketball team. She enjoyed playing cards with her family. (Pokeno and left right center). Tootsie roll welcomed everyone with love, support, encouragement, and an open heart. She was always ready to lend a listening ear, and offer sound and wise words of wisdom. Nicia Lee Robinson, 75, passed away on November 24, 2025. Services will be Saturday, December 6, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10 am and funeral service to follow at 12 noon at Cable Baptist Church, 1875 Farnsley Road. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery. Nicia was born January 16, 1950 to James and Carrie Robinson. She was the first daughter of nine children raised in the east end of Louisville, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Ahrens High School where she discovered her gift to play the piano and often played for the school’s ceremonies. Her love for music eventually led her to become the Minister of Music for Cane Run Baptist Church. For many years, Nicia was a member of the family church, Grace Hope Presbyterian where she sung in the choir and was ordained as a Deacon. She later united with Cable Baptist Church where her daughter was already a member. There, she immediately began serving in Ministry and developed lasting relationships with many members. Nicia was a retiree of Brown & Williamson and Humana. She was a very avid reader; you could always find her reading a mystery novel and playing her crossword puzzles. Later, her desire to read transitioned to the Bible; she became engulfed with reading, hearing and learning the Word of God. Until her health failed her, she never missed Bible Study, Sunday School or Church Service. She was one of U of L’s biggest fans and loved watching their basketball games on mute because she couldn’t take the pressure. While she was able, she enjoyed eating out, tending to her plants, talking to her sisters and watching Perry Mason and Andy Griffin. Throughout her life, her name was always difficult to pronounce so she was graciously given nicknames that perfectly described her character – Pig, the family nickname because she loved to eat, Nice Lady because of her big beautiful smile , Black Beauty, Beautiful, Nancy, and Bom-Bom in which her grandchildren so lovingly called her. Nicia is survived by her daughter, Ericka Dixon; grandchildren, Eric Jr. and Taryn Robinson; adopted grandson, Devin Robinson; Sisters, Carolyn McManus, Marilyn Bailey, Anne Rayborn, Georgetta Robinson, brother-in-law Cordell Miles and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her sons, Eric Dontez George Robinson and Byron Latelle Robinson in God’s eternal embrace. Stacey never hesitated to speak her mind—an enduring trait that those who loved her will remember fondly. Stacey’s greatest joy came from her family. Shopping was one of Stacey’s greatest joys and she treasured every moment spent spoiling her grandchildren. Doris Jean was born June 28, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Cecilia and Robert Simms Sr. Doris was the fourth-born daughter among seven siblings, growing up in a loving, close-knit family that shaped her strength, compassion, and warmth. Doris attended Shawnee High School until she was bused to Pleasure Ridge Park High School, where she completed the 11th and 12th grades. She graduated in 1978. After high school, she continued her education at Jefferson Vocational College, where she took courses that prepared her for a meaningful career in healthcare. She began her career as a physical therapist assistant at Pavillion Healthcare Center, where her dedication and compassionate care quickly set her apart. Doris later became the Director of Activities, a role she served in faithfully for 20 years. She transitioned to Parkway Medical Center, serving as the Director and Assistant Director of Activities there for another 20 years. She brought joy, comfort, and dignity to the residents she served, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing, and listening to music—Tupac especially. She had a green thumb and found joy in nurturing her plants, which brightened her home as much as she brightened the lives of others. Doris was a loving, compassionate, and thoughtful presence—not only to her family, but also to the residents she cared for at both Pavillion Healthcare and Landmark Medical Center, formerly known as Parkway Medical Center. Her gentle spirit, patience, and devotion will forever be remembered with deep gratitude. She is survived by her loving husband, Odell Smith; her children Angela, Odell, Yvonne, and Mark; her grandchildren Dominic, Jordan, Makaya, Aidan, and Sariya; and her great-grandson Isaiah. Phyllis was born the second of five children to the late William and Loretta Gibson. She was baptized at an early age at Greater Salem Baptist Church, where her foundation in Christ was formed. Later in life, she became a dedicated member and usher of Pleasant View Baptist Church, faithfully serving and joyfully praising the Lord every chance she could. A proud graduate of Shawnee High School, Class of 1976, Phyllis built a life marked by hard work and compassion. She married the love of her life, Kirk McCadden, on October 17, 1986. Together they raised three children: Tiqua McCadden, Kirtisha McCadden, and Kirk McCadden Jr. Phyllis was blessed with six grandchildren she adored beyond measure—Kenneth, Keela, Kimberly, Summer, Sam, and Victory. Phyllis spent more than 30 years working at NPC, where she was known for her strong work ethic and genuine kindness. After leaving NPC, she followed her heart and opened Smiley Baby Care, a daycare she lovingly operated for 10 years. She later joined St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, where she served for 11 years until her health required her to retire. Family was Phyllis’s heartbeat. She loved cooking for her husband, children, and grandchildren, creating meals that brought everyone together. Shopping trips, holidays, family gatherings, music, and dancing around her home filled her days with laughter and light. Above all, Phyllis loved the Lord—her joy in worship was unmistakable and unforgettable. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Kirk; her three children; her six grandchildren; her siblings William (Niecy) Gibson, Steward Gibson, and Pamela; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. After his military service, Clifford remained deeply connected to fellow veterans, often visiting the VA to share stories and encouragement. Clifford was a man of passion and joy. He loved riding his motorcycle and found peace in fishing. He cherished his family deeply and leaves behind treasured memories with his children: LaVetta Mills, Nathaniel Mills (Stacie), and NaShawn; his brother, Melvin Mills (Brenda); and his grandchildren, Noah Lowe and Noelle Mills. He also leaves a legacy of love with his devoted companion, Trina Williams, who stood faithfully by his side. Clifford’s gratitude for her care and devotion was immeasurable. She received her education in Jefferson County Public Schools and graduated from Jeffersontown High School. She later attended Western Kentucky University. Rita was employed for many years in the cafeteria at John F. Kennedy Elementary School, where she took pride in caring for the students she served. Rita was full of life and personality. She loved to laugh, speak her mind, and brighten any room she walked into. She had a heart big enough to hold everyone she loved and was known for giving her last without hesitation. Rita enjoyed being around her family, sharing stories, joking, and living her life out loud. To know her was to love her. Rita was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christiana Fant. Rita leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Lakesha Young, Naja Young, and Rosa Young; her grandchildren: Christin Fant, Christina Fant, Robert Williams, and Valarie Williams; and her bonus child, Richi Simms. She graduated from Bond Washington High School in Elizabeth Town Kentucky. She married at an early age to the late Robert Shirley English Sr. Together they came to Louisville and had a family of six children. Wanda became a member of King Solomon Baptist Church, pastor (Rev. Charles Elliott Jr). Wanda is preceded in death by her son Robert Shirley English Jr, Rory English, Keith English, and daughter Darlene Eloise English (Jones). She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Rhonda Marie English and Vanessa Lynn English (Johnson), a sister Joann Handcock, 17 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren, a niece Shirley Bell (Wooden), nephew Joey Smith, and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She will be truly missed. Wanda loved to travel, go to church functions, casinos, fashion shows, cookouts but shopping was what she enjoyed best.

Idell McCall Wallace, 87, passed away on November 3, 2025. Services will be Tuesday, November 11, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10:30 am and funeral service to follow at 12:30 pm at Corinthian Baptist Church, 1916 W. Jefferson Street. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington, KY. Idell was born on January 17, 1938, in Matthews, Alabama, to Fannie and Adair McCall Sr. She was a devoted wife to her husband James of 63 years, and a loving mother to their children, James Jr., Teresa, and Melisa. She was a graduate of Georgia Washington High School, Mt. Meigs, Alabama before she started her long work history at Pillsbury where she worked over 25 years before retirement. Idell gave her life to Christ at an early age at New Liberty Baptist Church, Alabama. After she moved to Louisville, she stayed with the Lord and became a member of Southern Baptist Church, Shiloh Baptist Church, and finally Corinthian Baptist Church. She has always used her voice to lift Jesus by singing in the church choir as well as the Wells singers of Louisville. Some of her favorite songs were “Rooted and Grounded”, “Pass me not”, “Jesus keep me near the cross”, as well as “Don’t you let nobody turn you around”. Your voice will never be forgotten. Idell will always be remembered for her delicacies from the kitchen. She had such a giving heart, she even fed a bus load of people that came to visit from out of town. Some of her specialties were banana pudding, pound cake, Coca-Cola cake, sweet potato pie, corn pudding, greens, macaroni and cheese, and hot water cornbread. She is survived by her husband, James Sr., her children, James Wallace Jr. (Pamela) and Teresa Hudson (James Sr.); siblings, Mary Clark, Mary Henry, Margaret Goodman (Bennie), Annie Tucker (Dorthus), Dennis Bibbins (Marilyn), Betty Boswell, Annette Kelly (Gregory), Stanford Bibbins, Cheryl Davis; sister in law, Annette Evans (Curt); grandchildren, Jacquetta Smith (Will), Ja’Lita Hudson, Vachel Hudson, Jazmine Hudson, Kayla Hudson, James Hudson Jr.; 12 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and family friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie and Adair McCall Sr. as well as father, Walter Bibbins; daughter, Melisa Wallace; and brothers, Adair McCall Jr. and Johnny Bibbins.

Kenneth Thomas, 69, passed away on October 31, 2025. Kenneth was born on March 14, 1956, in Louisville, Ky, He was educated in the Jefferson County Public School system, and spent most of his formative years growing up at 1828 W. Date Str, his loving mother Maybelle's house, and at the home of his beloved Aunt Anna Woods, on West Kentucky St. An alumnus of the old Victory Park era, he spent countless days there as well playing with the neighborhood children, As an adult he spent over 30 years in Covington, Ky. When he was 10 years old he joined First Samuel Baptist Church,and was baptized by Rev. Cozy Crawford. Kenneth had great love for the church , and all who worshipped there. No matter how far life took him he always returned home to First Samuel. If you knew Kenneth, you knew he lived his life “the Kenneth way”. However, no matter how far he went, or what he did, he never forgot his family and friends. He was quick to crack a joke and give a smile, but he didn’t mind telling anyone when he felt they’d done him, or someone he loved wrong. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Maybelle, stepfather George Richardson, brother Eugene Thomas, niece Devonda Thomas, nephews Michael Jr., and Nicolas Thomas. He leaves to mourn his passing daughter Kennetha, son Kenneth, grandchildren Joseph, Anthony, and Kaniece, great grandchildren Alivia, and Alani; His brother Michael Thomas (Rosalind); cousins who were like brothers and sisters; Sally Starr (Louis),Melvin Woods (Marion), Adrienne Stitch (Donald, Vincent Woods (Sondra), Maurice Woods, and Shan Woods, along with several other great nieces, nephews, cousins, and very many friends, some whom are lifelong friends.

Diana Johnson, 74, passed away on October 26, 2025. Services will be Friday, November 7, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11` am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, 840 S. 26th Street. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery. Diana Johnson was born on March 8, 1951 to Joseph Thompson and Louise Avery in Bardstown, KY. She was the oldest of five children. She is preceded in death by her Mother Louise Avery, her brother Dewayne Williamson and Granddaughter Desiray Shawana Johnson. Diana retired from Louisville Gas and Electric company after 30 plus years of service. She was a long-standing dedicated member of Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, where she serviced on the Usher board for many years. Ushering was more than a service for her, it was her labor for Christ. When asked about retiring from ushering, she stated “she will continue to service the Lord until she is called home”. Diana was a woman with a servant heart, always prepared to help wherever needed, even if it meant sacrificing her own comfort. Diana Johnson left this world to enter her everlasting life on October 26, 2025. So, when you think about her in your quite time; remember the love she shared for her family and friends. Remember her beautiful smile, tight hugs and loving spirit. Diana spoke life and Christ into everyone she encountered. Diana leaves to cherish her memories, a loving son; Desmond Andre Johnson.
